Update: I initially received this radio and it had a qulaity issue where the volume stopped working after it was powered off and powered back on. The replacement had the exact same issue. I reached out to the company and was impressed by their resolution. They communicated with me to determine the problem and quickly located the lot containing the issue. They also found the root cause and corrected it. They then offered to send me a new radio to review and enjoy. I liked this radio from the start, but their prompt response and problem resolution really made me appreciate them as a company. As I said, I really like this radio with it's weather alert feature and overall performance. The radio itself is solidly built and the performance is good. For it's price and size I really think it's a great radio and hard to beat with it's weather feature. As for the initial quality issue, I think they acted promptly, professionally and did what a company should do when problems occur. Well done.

@@killercobra3744 Hej , I have just received my Panasonic Rf-2400D in black color testing it now but my first impression is it has a very good speaker it's a very simple radio but it's lovely to use take care and have nice weekend.

About the apparent lack of 9kHz/10kHz AM switching. The main feature of this radio been the NOAA weather, which is US only, and 9kHz AM is only used outside of the Americas. I'm thinking of things like DAB digital radios those are usually only sold in countries that have DAB broadcasts. I did actually find the same radio on TaoBao in China, but the differences are, no NOAA weather band and alerts, was only branded as "D21", and seemed to have 9kHz AM. As these are DSP radios, it's probably only the firmware is different between the US and China variants.

After watching this video decided to order it and received today. I was going to get Sony ICF-P27 but I didn't like how FM tuning dial looked asymmetric. Been listening to it past couple hours and am quite impressed with Lijiani. Despite the tiny antenna, radio reception is excellent, audio, conversations sound natural and clear. The radio is very slim, at less than an inch thick slides easily in jean pockets and feels small in the hand but performs very satisfactory. Crammed two rechargeable NiMh batteries, very tight fit and the battery cover is bulging. I don't like radios that use odd number batteries because most batteries are sold in even numbers and hate getting stuck with one left out.

Just for the fun of it. I bought this radio mine actually came with a Built-in wrist strap. And it is actually a very. Nice Radio I was not expecting it to be the best at anything not like ADT 800 or something similar but none the less it is a very. Nice pocket radio and it is easy for somebody who is blind like me to use it definitely. Do videos on more of these little pocket radios? And thank you so much you're video. Help me buy this radio.

Well todderbert you can’t say that these Chinese radio companies don’t watch your videos because I just got my Liujiani and mine came with CCrane type ear buds instead of the cheap ones you got AND it came with a carry strap! Thank you for pointing those things out in the video.

WX Alert power drain is the same as any other mode (with volume at minimum), about 40mA. About two days on eneloops, maybe three off fresh alkalines. Twice the power of some pocket radios but it does have the digital display. I love the Sony P26/27 but sometimes you don't want to have to fiddle around to find a particular frequency. I love that grey blocky Realistic radio. It was the "good" in the mid-1980s catalogs. I eventually got Better and Best but, y'know? I liked "good" best. Only problem was killing 9V batteries falling asleep with it on.

Could you do a lunch box radio AM/FM shootout? Specifically the EP Pro, Elite Field and ICF-19. The latest versions. The analog tuned ones will need special care to tune fairly. Use any filter or settings to maximize individual performance. I have a ICF-19 and PL-330, based on your reviews. But was trying to choose between the more expensive radios as an up grade. Maybe I don't need an upgrade, you have all those radios to compare. Awesome show by the way.

Now that I have turned it on, mine only picks up the strongest local AM stations but FM is very good (much better) and my local NOAA weather station comes in very well. Except for the AM reception it is a pretty good little radio for the money

I like it, there's allot more to like then not to like. I think it's a top contender for ~$20 radio category. It puts the LCD on CCrane to shame. Speaker sounds good to great for the size category and overall straightforward operation. For the purists debating on DSP vs. analog tuners I think that's more of an issue for radios that have SW band. For easy daily listening this works just fine. I don't know if it's just me, I tend to favor tuning wheels or knob over tuning buttons where you have to keep pushing the tuning button because the band is so crowded with too many stations. Somehow it feels easier to use tuning wheel over tuning button.

This is a great radio but please be careful handling it I had to get mine replaced because I was wreckless with the battery bay and the tuning wheel broke Overall the reception is good on all bands especially if you take it to a coastal area like a beach town you will be surprised with the distant stations you can receive plus the headphone jack is suburb

9:14 "Only suitable for safe use in areas below 2K meters above sea level." .. What's that about? It's only a cheap radio, it shouldn't have a maximum safe altitude. I've lived in places that are more than 2,000 meters ASL, and never had any problems with tech items

Hi Todd. I really like your channel and am also a radio enthusiast. I bought this radio and I noticed when putting in the batteries, part of the compartment shows what appears to be a round wheel from the inside of the radio sticking out. Is this normal? Thank you in advance.

You are seeing the bottom edge of the speaker I imagine.

I priced some ... decided $11 wasn't tempting, also why buy up a 2013 deck that some fan might really want. that was for the "invincible iron man" deck todd usually uses. Not sure what this more yellow deck is. I don't see one in current production, just an avengers deck, which does look kinda cool.
