Its montages like these that give me hope that the combo videos of Ultimate will have editing that isnt as distracting as late Smash 4s videos but with the same amount of skill put into their combos and editing. Spectacular work you did here, this is one of the best montages for Ultimate I've seen yet!
see like why doesn’t this get way more attention; the editing is fantastic, the clips are extremely cool, it’s overall well made, no memes, just super cool great work
ty i’m flattered lmao serious answer though, if i had to guess it’s because montages like this (no memes, just gameplay and edits) don’t really appeal to the “””wider””” smash fanbase. a lot of the most impressive montages that come out (the ones from DMG come to mind) never seem to catch the favor of the youtube algorithm, and that’s probably because they don’t have le funny title or thumbnail, so there’s nothing really “attention-grabbing” - at least by today’s smash standards, or something like that. they’re not really shareable compared to the ones with funny edits or references in them ig
True. Another example of montage videos that mostly like this video is where someone making montage of Ryu using Kung Fury/Hotline Miami style soundtrack (I think the name is True Survivor). And as you guess it, it doesn't really attract much viewers either. I loved the montage made by DMG too btw. Its so special, complete with the 3rd Strike style opening and character select screen. But videos from years ago, complete with their "epic" edits and memes? They got so much views.
This single handedly made me want to pick up ryu. You're an amazing player, and your editing is the same. Probably the best smash montage I've ever seen.
The clips, the editing, the timing! Bro I am blown away by this montage, it’s so sick. What an amazing compilation man, it never ceases to surprise me with the finesse and on point editing. Are there any tips and/or video editing softwares that could help me edit videos the way you do with your montages? I would love to get into doing something similar to your kind of work. Also would love to drop a like, but I don’t wanna break that 69 fam .
thanks man! appreciate it as for tips for editing, really what i did is just get used to using the software you have. i have sony vegas, which certainly isn’t “ideal” - adobe software would probably be the way to go, but it’s not worth the cost for someone like me - but it gets the job done. i seriously just messed around with it, discovering it’s capabilities and making dumb meme edits, getting slowly more comfortable with it. but what really helped me improve my editing, and i have no shame in saying this, is trying to actually recreate the effects on other videos. i found out that vegas needed plugins to recreate them, and once i -cough cough- got them (sapphire plugins specifically), my horizons broadened a ton. by practicing recreating effects, i discovered what more i could possibly do with them, especially with the plugins. this might not actually have been advice and just digressing at this point, so i’m really sorry LOL but tl;dr, what i did is use existing stuff as a basis to practice and build off of, and with a solid foundation of knowledge i was able to build whatever my creative vision wanted to
@@avvvani Lol it's all good, and that's actually a great advice, thanks a lot man! I tend to forget that things like art or creativity-related skills are often built upon purely on experience rather than a step by step process like Math or some shit lmao. I'll keep what you've said in mind, thank you very much bro and keep up the good work.
@@avvvani After getting back into video editing for an upcoming montage I am making, this advice has been helping me a lot. Most of the stuff I saw in this video are ones I think I am able to recreate with my current set up now. Hope they turn out well lol. Don't know if you are still here but just wanted you to know that I am still grateful for the tip you gave me a couple years ago.
Daaaaaamn ! That was sooo good ! Your editing is amazing ! Also, I'm gald this is a Ryu montage, I think Ryu is really underrated as a Shoto. You really diserve more views than that ! That's some great work ! Cheers from France ! (sorry for my english by the way) A French Ryu main.
"Ken is better than Ryu!" Change my mind... Man watching these Ryu clips makes me to shed a tear as Ryu being my 4th main. There are still Ryu players out here! Man your video was amazing!
Yo, any chance you can follow me on twitter and send me the raw files from the video :O? Would really love to use'em for an Art of Ryu, credit will ofc be given 👀
@@notayoutubechannel256 Yeah 9 months later and still nothing. A ryu guide is near pointless and will take so much effort and research to prepare I doubt he'll make one
BRRROOOOO YOU'RE UNREAL, I know must of the combos you showed but pulling them of on a match as with so little effort makes you special, you flow so well and didn't seem to hesitate on what to do, I know as a Ryu player you have small gaps to set everything. Amazing work man appreciate it a lot!!!! ❤ 🔥
@@avvvani hey man you dont have to say yes if you dont want to, but you down for some friendlies some time? ive been working on my ryu and i wanna see how mine holds up.
People may have not noticed. But its the aerial lvl 1 focus your linking into your other aerials. I was always wondering how. This is absolutely amazing brotha. Im definitely stealing all them combos btw. Just didnt know how. So thank you and amazing job. 💪
I’m quite a bit late to the party, but this is so well edited. Also, I don’t play Ryu, but I do main Ken, so I can really appreciate your fluid movements. It’s awesome to see how well you can use focus to influence your momentum, which is something I struggle with a lot. Side note: slightly jealous your Tatsumaki kills, but I’ll take the multi hit
God I still want Kiyru in smash, I know he's a little to out there to get in and I can already hear the "Maybe in Tekken" but the way Sakurai puts love into move list makes me want him here. Terry and Joker got in which was pretty out there and you know that Ryu's Character art was a little inspired by him, right???........... oh yeah amazing montage, your edits are incredibly stylish and seeing Ryu makes me happy people still play him!
i appreciate the compliment!! biggest tip i can offer is find a good song and then take inspiration from there! music is instrumental to making a good video so as long as the music's good, at least in my exp, the ideas flow much more easily also don't be afraid to steal effects from other videos/games/media sources in general LOL like pretty much all of the stuff i did in this vid were inspired from other games (SF & yakuza, obviously) - i guess in general just coming up with a "tone" for your video and keeping that in mind the whole time will help guide the edits towards the right direction
Came back after a year to look at this in a time of need for smash inspiration. While this "inspiration" I needed was for Ken, I gotta admit I forgot how damn clean Avani's editting and smash-skill is. Also having finished Kiwami--working on Kiwami 2 now--a few weeks ago makes this edit hit all the more home. Even tho I doubt you'll see this comment in an ocean of 'em, I talkin' to you Avani. Good to come back and see this every now and then..
man can I buy you a capture card or something, there's so much damn passion in your editing ever since the DONT FERGET ME video, its a shame to see the quality needlessly drop
just vegas pro lol somewhat(?) unrelated, i tried creative cloud out and i couldn’t understand it and the free trial for students ends on july 6th so i kinda just gave up i’d definitely recommend using those over vegas though since they have a lot more versatility, especially with dynamic link between premiere and after effects
at the start of ultimate, a shulk montage was the first thing i wanted to make with the game, but i eventually learned that shulk wasn’t very fun for me in this game not sure why, since he’s so much better than in smash 4, but he just didn’t click for me :/ if by some miracle i do find him fun again, i’ll for sure do a shulk one though!
