Don't expect them to be that price forever dude. Plus we get more with Hasbro like weapons and stuff and two heads in a package. Something you don't get with McFarlane And the Page Punchers action figures are actually 25.00 too.
Really love it how this line has progressed in like 2-3 years. The Mcfarlane's Snyder cut didn't have that great likeness to the actors but in here the likeness of The Rock is really there! And it's also great if Mcfarlane isn't afraid to try other things like the hinges.
Hey Jason, great review as always. I did want to share a tip for the movie Dr. Fate. If you want the proportions to look better turn the ab section around. The lower torso was assembled backwards and the actual ab sculpt is on the back. Once you turn it around the figure looks so much better.
Thank you so much! He doesn't really have abs exactly, just a line down the middle, so it didn't even occur to me that it's his back. I switched it around like you said and yeah, it looked much better.
Good solution (if you have that cape figure) I hate they made them two different releases to get his hood. You know, Stealth Iron Man can really stand well for a guy without legs xD
The fact that mcfarlane didn’t make another Black Adam in his final look at the end of the movie just with the gold standing out on his costume and his cape is just beyond me. The same goes for not making a new Superman since he shows in the end credit scene. I mean it’s just the Man of Steel suit just brighten colors
For some reason, all my Target Spider-Man preorders were cancelled and I had to reorder, so I am not sure how long of a delay that will be. But yes, that is my plan.
I just ordered him. I’m excited to get him and have him fight my custom Action Comics #1000/Rebirth customized Superman (I had to do modifications that required an x-acto, Dremel, and pin vice, so he goes beyond “kitbash”). I also took the idea for the Hood cloak and will be dying it black when it arrives. Gotta cover up my Johnson.
The whole wave is cool. If you order the whole wave from McFarlane get a good deal. Sabak has symbols on the figure too. It looks like Chinese. Not sure about writing on black Adam’s suit. It must mean something.
Agreed. Honestly, I'd have paid any extra five bucks for a deluxe version that had the lightning AND a removable cloak and do the whole shebang in one go.
I can't speak for other reviewers, but for me there are a few reasons. One, as much as I love figures, I am also incredibly interested in the business side of the industry. From that perspective, a figure's packaging serves a couple functions. One is to preserve and protect the item for transit from the factory to the store, but also to grab your attention away from all the other toys on the aisle. It's like curb appeal in real estate or a profile pic on a dating app. It conveys a lot about the brand and company. When done well, those packages become iconic. Just look at the fervor over Marvel Legends retro cards or the Star Wars vintage line. So many of us go nuts because of the powerful feelings those cards evoke. Good packaging today becomes tomorrow's nostalgia. And as we enter an age of windowless boxes, that sense of graphic design will be even more important in grabbing people. On that subject, lastly, I see all aspects of quality action figures as a form of art. The toy is poseable art, and the box is actual art. Commercial art, but art. Hope that gives you some insight into how I see toys. If it makes you feel better, if you extract the packaging section out of my videos, it's usually only 45 seconds unless there is something I feel needs to be addressed (or if I can get some jokes out of it).
