A day's work sees Terry lose his job through Bob and Thelma's domestic argument in the back of his van when the microphone is left on and the entire elmlodge estate hear the conversation.
Stephanie Lawrence - the demonstrator with the longer blonde hair - was a West End Musical star who played the mother in Blood Brothers, Evita and Marilyn Monroe, and was the female lead in the original cast of Starlight Express. She died at 50 in 1990 of alcohol-related problems. She was a true Geordie, born in Newcastle. Another tragically young death was Bob's secretary, Wendy, played by Elizabeth Lax, who died at 46 in 1996 from a heart attack. A beautiful girl (like Stephanie), she seemed very sweet, even if her acting wasn't of the highest calibre. Also RIP from the movie are Mary Tamm (Christina), ex-Dr Who, and Zena Walker, who played the amorous landlady.
Really nice old school song this. Thanks for putting it up. Was searching for it thinking it was an old hit but it must of been made just for the movie. Would love to know the singer.
This scene was filmed in Borehamwood, at the junction of Links Drive and Park Crescent. The majority of the outside scenes were filmed in Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
@@ClydebridgeStation The housing estate and the library were in Borehamwood, not far from Elstree Studios. The scenes inside Terry's flat looked to be genuine, but my ex g/f said the giveaway was when Terry sparked up from a gas cooker, this was a mistake as the flats were all electric. She said the studio set was a good recreation of the flats in the tower block- her sister lived there for a time in the seventies- but as soon as the lads went inside, it was a studio set.
