you think theo was the first person in history to come up with the idea of a wooden shirt? they probably tested it out for armor against arrows at some point. youre dumb as bricks, son
When i 1st heard about this, my immediate thoughts were that maybe Santino heard Theo make the joke (as they are somewhat part of the same crowd) & at some point _✌🏻forgot✌🏻_ where he heard it, & then was like _"oh man, you know what would be a funny gag to use on the show..."_ & then obviously little Dickey liked it & used it on _Dave..._ & just in-case anyone isn't sure why I'm bringing Santino into this - he both acts & writes for the FX show _Dave,_ alongside LD.

Discomfort or unease: If someone is sitting on their hands in a situation where they are normally at ease, it may indicate that they are feeling uncomfortable or uneasy, either with the situation or with the people around them. Concealment or deception: In some cases, sitting on one's hands can be seen as a way of concealing or hiding something, such as the fact that they are lying or holding something back. He isnt uneasy around andrew or nervous around him which leaves concealment. However body language only works to a degree and shouldn't be taken as the only evidence. I personally don't think he intentionally took the joke and I could definitely see one of the writers contributing it and not letting them know where they got it. Jeff Shaffer and Alex Russle are the other writers for that episode so who knows. The timeline is just the thing that makes me wonder because that bit from JRE blew up around the time that season of the show was being written so who knows. It's definitely not as bad as some jokes that have been stolen like Amy Shumer.
@@jonathanbrooks9768he is saying he looks guilty which can be shown through body language - maybe he feels guilty bc after hearing the drama he realized his writers really did steal it Also Lil Dicky is a J word with rich parents that paid to be famous in the first place
That's what I'm saying there's like 10 billion people on this earth there's always gonna be plenty of people thinking the same thing, concept or joke as you its like almost impossible to create something original just like every invention or thing made there were concepts and other people thinking the same its all about who says it's first or made it first or who just popularize it first
When every joke on your show is stolen from comedians... it's not even a matter of originality it's a matter of lazy shit writing and rampant stealing of jokes. Not just from Theo
I think the "writers room" is exactly why we have such shit writing in movies and TV these days, it's nobody's baby just a whole room of people adding their "ooh what about this?" And it's usually all stuff we've seen before
@jordanallred4771 You have no clue how that word works do you? This happened long before Theo von used it as a joke in the early 2000s so it would physically be impossible for me to be a thief. But hey let those last 2 brain cells battle it out they bud

People find any reason to hate on Lil Dicky, please do your research he’s actually a really cool guy, very humble and modest. He’s literally just trying to live a normal life despite being famous.
To be fair because you thought of it quickly doesn’t make it not specific. A red toothbrush broken in 4 pieces. That’s pretty specific and I just made it up. But I can’t say it’s not specific.

@@Draxplayzit2 Also the fact people have worn shoes made of wood in the past. I'm not defending anybody, but it sounds like a pretty dumb claim that it was copied.
hahaha exactly, that raisesd my eyebrows when I heard it. It’s a pretty specific and unique subject (like a lot of what Theo talks about) Also I don’t believe LD actually intentionally stole this joke, all these shows have writers rooms and lots of people involved in the creative process so there are a lot of points of failure for stolen jokes to sneak in. If LD is to be believed and they came up with this idea naturally then it’s kind of unfortunate because its a very specific joke. I know I certainly never independently thought about a wooden shirt until I heard Theo mention it.
@@SpartanArmy117 I agree, doesn't seem extremely farfetched to me that two different people came up with the idea of a wooden shirt independently. I don't even think it's that funny of a joke to begin with.
I've talked about wooden shirts as a joke in 2006. Not sure theo was a comedian back then but it does seem to be a broad subject. Imagine with underwear that grazes everything every step you take. 😅

No crap, just for fun went looking for videos of people making wooden clothing, and we can definitively say that people were making them before Theo was born.
1. He said MANY "jokes" (implying more than just one thing he said on some podcast) 2. They never say plywood 3. The idea that award winning writers rooms are following Theo Vons podcast career for material is unironically hilarious.

Theres a chance one of the writers heard it and pitched it. Though also sometimes you just try to think of something ridiculous and off the wall and it's been done before. A lot of times my friends would think of skits to do. And I'd just do google searches and see something quite similar was created already. Original ideas are extremely rare, that there are so many people in the world it's hard to be innovative even without knowing soemone else came up with it before. Kinda like the whole pyramids in America and Africa. Its a simple idea and they invented it themselves individually.
That’s how it be with music too. Gotta make sure your brain isn’t subconsciously taking other peoples jokes/music/ideas. That’s why you gotta have people around you to check you
Wooden clothing is a really common theme that many comedians talk about. I mean come on we've all known people with wooden shirts at one time or another.
The thing about Theo is he has hours of podcasting time and says INSANE stuff constantly. It’s a miracle literally half of his content isn’t coincidentally used or found in other places
He's got more interview time than most of the celebrities I can think of Like he rolls them out constantly And we know most of his jokes are just from other things He'll say that it's part of his life but we know the bullshit 😂😂

I think people need to start realizing that ideas can't be monopolized. sometimes we come up with similar ideas... like as kids we all imagined a dude running beside the car whether it be on the side of the rode, in the woods, or on the power lines... we've all thought about it....
There's stuff me and my friends joked about for years and then a comedian or tv show would do the exact bit. People come up with the same funny concepts. It just happens. Not that writers never steal jokes but two different people coming up with the same idea happens all the time.
Except for the joke has a completely different premise. They both have the idea of a wooden shirt (which isn't really a very original concept) but one is about some redneck trying to save money, and the other is about a hippie artisan selling a ridiculous hipster concept at a farmer's market.
