Im a Black man from San Diego. I want to say that Lil Rob is a musical legend that transcends race. Best commercial Mexican rapper ever. I dont know about his street cred nor do I want to know, thats not my call or my community (even though I grew up with alot of good mexican brothas). All I can say is when he got his shot to do music he took that shit and gave it 100% and made timeless classics. Ive personally jammed lil rob tracks more than 2000 times in my life for sure. It's dope seeing lil rob doing podcast but hopefully one day he really opens up about his past situations in the business. I know it's all behind him and he doesn't waste energy on his early days, low profile, signature records and etc ..but dam some of us chicano rap historians would love to hear his side. We as fans have invested more in his career then any other Chicano rapper but know so little. Then we got these lame ass rappers who can't can't close their dam mouth and yap like viejas. Which is on the 33 parallel ( numerology) his house is on the right or east side of valley ave. (Valley of death , right hand of god biblical ) Last name Flores (flowers ) Aztec flower war Xochitl Xochipilli Im writing a paper on lil rob and I’m collecting information.
I like his music grew up with it and his hits go past race and I think he should just be a rapper not labeled only as a Chicano rapper. But I get it. Legendary hood hits
