One of the greatest tracks ever laid. Its brilliant, dark, lyrically exceptional, incredibly powerful and flows like a f'ing river. Ten plus years on, and it sounds as epic as when it first came out. I'll never get this one out of my head or heart. They don't make them like this anymore. Which is a damn shame.
LFR FAMILY anytime man. To be fair, I’ve heard the song many times, but I didn’t catch it until watching the video earlier. Just goes to show you catch more and more each time you listen to an Em verse or track lol
His whole style changed while he was making Carter 3. He started taking risk and he jumped head first into Alien and outer space persona and it shot him to the moon lol he had one of the best crossover situations in music history. The reason the songs he did with Em was so impactful was because he started pushing the envelope and becoming more witty with his punchlines and he expanded his content outside of the normal street content he used before. Its dang near impossible for anybody to not put him as a goat. Hes on my Mount Rushmore after Em. And its impossible to find a artist he has not had a impact on. It's all over this newer generation of artist the thing most of them are missing is the hunger Wayne had and desire that pushed him to become the artist he is. He hit levels that less than a handful of artist can hit. Its impossible to write the story of Hiphop without Wayne having a main roll.
Donnie Trowell Bro nobody can be great forever, Wayne been in the game for nearly 25 years I’m surprised he still has stuff to say after all the music he’s put out it’s insane.
I’m so sad… finally understood “Easter egg, prepare to dye… (maybe a reach) my head”… prepare to die, but Easter eggs are dyed, and if he dyes his hair again… Shady’s back… last part maybe a reach, but just got the pun. Dammit! He’s the (better) lyrical M Night Shyamalan… watch/listen more and more and catch things even after years. Love these reactions though!
Even Wayne here at 9:11 forward is like yep here we go baby Wayne had that swag as he on this with em same with other ones he collab with em Wayne pure fire on this
'This world is my Easter egg, yea prepare to die'- biblically Easter is about Jesus dying on the cross, and being raised again 3 days later so I think Em used that as a metaphor saying you better prepare to die
Oh yeah and I missed that line the first couple times I heard this too but “this world is my Easter egg, yeah prepare to dye (die)”. Like how for Easter people buy those kits to dye the eggs colors by dipping them in the colors.
The Easter egg is the subliminal diss to lil Wayne. On the song forever Wayne says “I’m resting in the lead, I need a pillow and a cover” and Em said “sleep on me that pillow is where your head will lye....” only Em can diss someone on there own song and have that same person (Weezy) hollering “get him” when he should be saying get ME Lol
a abadie Lil Wayne must play a really big role on Em’s life then cuz he even made a whole song about him and has also mentioned Wayne multiple times in different songs. That’s dope.
This song is “ALOT DEEPER” than most people understand. I just wanna know do they still stand on this song today or did they sell out…tricked to believe they can afford a spot in space.
Lil Wayne on Forever: "I'm resting in the lead I need a pillow and cover" Eminem on Drop the world: "Sleep on me that pillow is where your head will lie permanent bitch" I'm gone
Yes thank you for not reacting until you found the dirty version. I'm a Lil Wayne fan to but after hearing what Gilli Da Kid (hope I spelt his name right) had to say I'm not as sure. Eminem is the GOAT but Lil Wayne came closer to having the better verse on this song than he did No Love
Bone Thugs- thuggish ruggish bone, mo murda, crept and we came, no shorts no losses, no surrender, creepin on ah come up, down foe my thang, all original, handle the vibe, east 1999, let the law end, hatin nation, die die die, 1st of tha month, days of our lives, buddah lovaz, down 71.
Wayne for sure came harder on this one but Em's bar still hit harder. Song is dope. I can't even lie, I didn't understand the Easter Egg prepare to dye bar till early last year lol I felt dumb as hell lol I was ashamed to call myself a hiphop fan for a smooth month lol
0:51 how did u want him to sound in No Love? Yes i believe Em took that track but lil wayne showed up you cant expect him to come with the same flow as Em, they have 2 different styles Also, u know people are still debating that Em bodied Jay on renegade but they never say Em bodied lil wayne on No love, the narrative is that Em took the track...no bodying. Come on bro, cut lil wayne a lil slack, his verse was fire too
I TOTALLY Fux with Lil Wayne, but in my opinion, in DROP THE WORLD, WEEZY KILLED THAT CHIT in Both of his verses. Delivery, Swag, Metaphors. In this one, I don’t feel we got our money’s worth. No disrespect tho. Just my take. I appreciate you Watching & Participating Tho.
Naw cuz I feel you on when Wayne started going by Tuneci. It's like he changed his whole flow and cadences . Lil Weezy , bm jr was a different animal before Carter 4 and him going to jail
Big W Oh naw Dedication 6 was some of the best spitting he’s done in years. For the past 2 years I’d say Wayne been giving quality verses. But Wayne from 2004-2010 wore the crown longer than anybody . You can make a case that Wayne wore the crown longer than Jay Z when comparing primes.
Imagine your Wayne and u just spit that fire verse and your like oh I got this and then Em picks his Mic up and all you can do is watch like damn I thought I finally got him. Damn
I loved this song when I was younger. Why now when hearing this song now it feels like there both talking from Antichrist point of view? Just saying listen to it thinking about it that way
Wayne ain’t never had no Dr.Dre type producer by his side, Wayne records with any producer he ain’t trippin, now that’s real talent! Dr.Dre has produced all of Eminem’s Albums!! Do you know who Dr.Dre is?? That’s the greatest hip hop producer of all time right next to Eminem, Who does Wayne have?? Drake has 40 who does Wayne have!?? You don’t see that right..
Lil Wayne has legendary Albums,Mixtapes,Features and Artists under his belt!! Em has more sales than Wayne but Wayne’s mixtapes never counted as sales or else it would be a different story!! Wayne’s mixtapes alone can compete with Em’s albums dude let alone Wayne’s albums and features smh what do you about Wayne bruh?! What do you know about the REAL GOAT??
