I think this is one of their best efforts to date, but I also know that their will be more great songs to come , as is evidenced by the other 10 songs on this MADNESS Album all are completely different to each other and yet are all instantly recognisable as a Liliac song. This song along with HOLOGRAM, REBEL GIRL, and HYPOTHERMIA are my favourites on this album, but I tend to change my mind every time I listen to the whole album because there's not a bad song on it . The CRISTEAS as Liliac was known when starting out were fronted by Sam because at that time they were singing pop covers , when they embraced hard rock and metal they took advantage of Melody's natural powerful raspy voice and the rest is history . I also love the way the transition from Melody's high notes and signature banshee screams into Sam's guitar solos is seamless and has become their M.O for most of their songs . Great reaction keep them coming FANG4LIFE RORH
You said you paid attention to the competing lyrics in the second verse, but did you also happen to catch that Melody's voice jumps from the left ear on the first line to the right ear on the second line? And then from the right to the left on the second set of her lines? A great effect, and it makes it easier to hear and understand the two different sets of lyrics being said at the same time. Well done Liliac! I agree about this song/vid. It is billed as a lyric video but I think it's perfect for a video as is. And yeah, Melody screaming into the guitar solo is pretty much their signature move. Incredibly well done when they match pitch such as in this one. I really like this song as well, in my top 5 now even. Not sure if you have the album/cd or not but you'll prob really like song "Hey There Child". It's supposedly a bonus track on the Madness album. They have it posted on RU-vid as an audio only. It's short, not even 2 1/2 minutes but impactful also. It provides a sound I have wanting hear from the band ever since "The Last In Line" cover. Enjoy! Fang4Life! RO&RH! 🤘😎🤘
No, I didn't catch the panning, but I'll listen for it next time! I don't have the cd, but will add that to my list, since I don't mind checking out audio only tracks.
