Love your breakdown of this sad and tragic song. Sam wrote it and it makes my heart heavy wondering what he is going through to write such lyrics as these. I really appreciate the consistency of their signature scream-to-solo even in a rock ballad. It so works for them and its chilling to hear. And as always Sam delivers with his guitar "crying" instead of "screaming". I've always said that a good guitar player can make his "baby" either scream or cry and this is why Sam has become my fave out of all the rock bands out there. Thanks Todd for a great reaction.
Hi Cristy ... I find I love doing Liliac songs because after a short time, it feels like you know each member intimately. Their videos bring such clear images of each member and their approach to music. The viceo for "Somber Cry" is so original and highlights only Sam and Melody. But it was perfect for the song and having added more to the video may have taken away from the mood the group was attempting to portray. It is nearly genius! Enjoy Cristy ...
@@drivingwithtodd1781 They get all sorts of accolades about their singing and playing, etc, that we tend to forget the writing and the composition. This one was so outside their norm but it showcases the brilliant talent they are so capable of. I wonder what the album is going to be like? BTW the kids are great human beings and meeting them was like meeting family. I hope to see them when they come to Colorado again.
Hello my friend. Just got to you from my cue. As far as the keys are concerned, doesn't matter what you call it because with modern keys you can adjust sounds. Not like in my day with early syntheth you were a bit hamstrong. Papa Liliac said in a Instagram livestream that this album would be different. Lyrics are a bit heavy. I've spoken about this topic a lot. I love the keys with Sam's voice. I get a little 60s feel at that moment. Love the background layered voices that lead up to the Chorus. That is truly Liliac style. I did pay for a virtual concert recently and eventhough my audio was crap I can tell that they use a backing track to some of the songs. Not a big fan, however my 3rd band I support uses a backing track if they cannot bring the choir etc. I really think that the Chorus is fantastic to use MeloDia female energy in contrast to the lead of Sam's male energy. Makes it truly unique...truly Liliac! They make this so effortless is because they have been harmonizing together since they were 11 and 8 respectively. Loved the reaction. Better late than never. Lol Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. FANG 4 LIFE! RORH 🍻🌹❤️🤘🦇
G,day Todd annd thanks for another great reaction I agree with everything you said except that I'd prefer to see the whole band in their videos, not that this one wasn't good because as you commented they always present us with great videos. From everything I've read in the comments it would appear from the two early releases and the teaser snippits on Liliac's channel that they are definitely offering us a very different format to their usual 80s themed songs and I for one am glad , I love their style of music it reminds me of my younger self but you havev to keep reinventing yourself as you progress, otherwise you become predictable and thats not good in any artform . Only 6 more days to the MADNESS album then on to a whole lot of Newreactions and comments . FANG4LIFE RORH

Hi Solaris70 ... Thank you for seeking out my videos. Also a big thank you for subscribing to my channel. I record these videos hoping people will enjoy the music, the groups and maybe my comments. 😉 Keep rockin' ...
Hi jmikew ... It would be fun to hear either Ethan or Justin to take the lead on vocals on a song. Would also love to hear Justin do a killer keyboard solo in place of Sam's guitar solo. Something different, something sweet ... Rock on ...
