My rant... I will preface this by saying that I always vote and I have never voted anything other than Conservative. Let's call me a 60 year old (rounding up). I was never really worried when the Liberal's won an election, because both the Liberals and Conservatives were just a little left or a little right of centre. But Trudeau has pushed the Liberal party so far left that the Conservatives have "appeared" to move so far right. That's not true. We conservatives, and the party itself, remain just right of centre. Whether you are a staunch Liberal or a staunch Conservative, you need to understand that the status quo has changed and we need to continually revisit our alliances.
as a former liberal I wish the CPC would be stronger on a lot of issues, but alas, realpolitik has them using economics in their playbook, which I understand, so in order for them to do what is necessary to right this ship, we need to give them a majority so they have more flexibility. The fact this election hasn't gone down yet, is a travesty. I really think a NC vote is necessary right now, but I see PP doesn't want to force his hand. I just hope when election day comes, Canadians will do what is necessary to save this country from economic and political oblivion. If we somehow survive 2030s under a Liberal mandate, then the economic fallout from our real estate dependency will do us in with this reckless fiscal policy, and if we survive that balkanization will ensure we're no longer a nation at all. There is so much division in this country right now. More than I can ever remember. I can't see this country surviving as one solid nation when we are beset by a cavalcade of glaring issues. Canadians are the most indebted people in the world. The average-income Canadian needs to make 10x their annual income to buy an average home. Immigration is out of control in urban zones. Our infrastructure isn't advanced or efficient enough to support a rapidly growing population or our economy. There're housing shortages due to inept building. Lack of FDI and domestic investment in areas like RnD and industry... etc., etc. These are just a few issues, but the list is endless. This country needs proper management. We need PP to show up big time, but it's up to us to give him the chance. God bless.

I have always voted Liberal or NDP, but I am now most certainly voting Conservative. I've realized that no political party is *entitled* to my vote just because they are red or blue; it's their job to earn my vote every single election. The NDP and the Liberals have failed over and over to better living conditions for Canadians, and our country is going down the drain. They have pushed me to this, and I hope they go down in flames. I don't know if the Conservatives will be better, but we've given them PLENTY of time and chances to prove that they deserve the privilege and prosperity that their positions entail--time is up
If blue somehow doesn't win, I don't think anyone from my generation will be able to buy a house in their lifetime. I personally need this to happen, Im legally allowed to vote starting last year, I've already decided.

This is the city that just voted in Olivia Chow and all but 2 of the candidates who finished in the top 10 were all at least Liberal left. There is no way overall Toronto swings blue. Liberals will lose in 2025 because other areas will swing blue but the majority of Toronto will still go red or switch to orange.

Personally, as a Canadian, I have had enough of the Liberal/NDP Coalition designed to keep Trudeau in power (as if he is so good for the country). Electoral politics are like a pendulum: Voters swing left until things reach the breaking point. Then they swing right. After a while, once things are good, voters succumb to the left's siren song of a kinder, gentler, more compassionate world and they swing left. Only to swing back when the government runs out of money and things go South - again. P.S. The results of the St. Paul bi-election are not a strictly Canadian phenomenon. Jamaal Bowman, a charter member of the Woke Progressive "Squad" in the US House of Representatives, was trounced in the New York Democratic primary by a "mainstream, moderate" Democrat and will have to go back to working for a living. Coupled with the "radical, right wing extremist" wins in the EU Parliament elections, it seems the pendulum is truly starting to swing to the right across the globe.
