A fact that will make any Disney fan cry... Ilene Woods, who was the original voice of Cinderella, wound up in a nursing home in her old age due to Alzheimer's making her mind slipping away because of her aging. As the years went by, she slipped further and further away and got more and more upset and angry and frustrated at not knowing where she was or why. She didn't even remember voicing Cinderella. The one thing that always calmed her down and made her happy was when the nurses taking care of her would play "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." So they played it as often as they could for her.
i actuallu dont really like the new dress design. I think if they got rid of the frilly top part and made the bottom less poofy, then it would even better than the cartoon version
You can't beat the original. Its an ANIMATED and a Real Life movie for a reason. 2 dresses from different times, designs, and animations can't compete for the best.
I love how Lily James’ voice wasn’t completely ruined with auto tune and pitch correction like how Emma Watson’s poor voice was in Beauty and the Beast.
I'm a fan of Disney music for it's simplicity and pure joy. But this song, in particular, has always stood out to me. On it's surface, it sounds as fanciful as all the others, but the chord changes on the line 'no matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing', is powerful and made me listen more closely to the lyrics. When you listen to lyric closely, It's an extremely empowering message.
This beautiful and classic song should have received the Academy Award for best song in a motion picture! It wasn't even nominated in 1950! This song is for everyone! It is not for a wedding or a romantic sing! It is a song of hope, dreams and faith!

We danced to this at our wedding last Saturday, 4/29, and it was absolutely magical. I will never forget dancing with my bride. Truly timeless, we spun, we dipped, we waltzed. I truly believe in the lyrics of this song now.
I remember watching the first Cinderella as a child and this one doesnt disappoint I really enjoyed it and Lily's voice is so breathtaking very angelic. I sing this to my niece for when she sleeps she loves it.
I loved the original Cinderella so much and her dressed was always my dream and then when this movie came out my dress became reality and i couldnt stop crying. Her voice is as beautiful as the original singers which gave me chills every time!!

Suffering from Alzheimer's disease in a nursing home at Canoga Park, Ilene Woods the original voice of the Cinderella didn't remember that she voiced Cinderella but was mostly comforted by the film's song "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the nurses played it for her as often as possible, realizing she liked it. I hope she would like Lily's version even she is now in heaven.

She wouldn’t have worn the corset in a recording studio and it’s actually an optical illusion. The skirt of the dress has 2 miles of fabric while the shoulder piece is huge to make her waist seem smaller.
