At 8:00 when Lily realizes she's rambling a bit and apologized and that Jane immediately turns toward her partner, to look at her directly ignoring the camera entirely was so beautiful. It was a silent show of support that's so gorgeous about their relationship.
I normally watch a video in it's entirety before jumping down to the comments but I just paused it at 8:13 thinking "I have to see if anyone else is picking up on this too"

Lily is a national treasure! Good to see her with Jane and relating their lives together and my word, 50 years together, collaborating, cohabitating, living through and being a part of what I still call Gay Liberation (inclusive of LGBTQ folks) has been extraordinary. As a gay man of 66 I can appreciate their journey. I hope they continue entertaining us and wish them well.
The first 20 minutes of Search the most brilliant humor I have ever seen. I saw Lily in the 70's and last year and she has not lost a thing, still solo talented.
Jane and Lilly are even more beautiful now. Im 54 and somehow, I always knew. Alot for a 4 year old who told his mother proudly that he was going to marry Robin the "boy wonder" not Batman. It only seemed natural to marry the person you love. I loved Robin. Why not? Thanks Jane. Thanks Lilly You led the way.

Nooooo! I was just saying this morning that I had hoped that Grace and Frankie would go on for several more seasons! I absolutely love that show! I have binge watched it and started it over again several times. It's just phenomenal in every way. The actors are perfect in their parts and the writers have done such a fantastic job! This makes me so sad! Regardless, I love Lily and her wife Jane is absolutely gorgeous! How wonderful that they've been together for 50 years! I so enjoyed this interview!

Grace and Frankie is my show! Have watched Lily for decades but never saw any of her shows on stage live. Perhaps I can find her on dvds. Amazing how her and Jane were unique in looks, now they’ve truly become one! ❤️❤️❤️
I grew up in a house where I had an understanding of the LGBTQ community because of some of my relatives. I'm a 55 yo straight woman who is so glad that I have now seen where all states allow gay marriage. Where we have gay characters on TV and movies . And where we interview gay couples just like straight couples. I know there is still more to do but I'm glad to live in a time where it is so much more accepted on such an open stage.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie ..the same could be said for my lifestyle..being child free. But this is my life and that is their life and no one says you have to be part of that community.
Xena, thanks for reintroducing me to Lily and Jane. This is a most fascinating and revealing interview. The best compliment I ever received came from my partner who referred to me as "a natural feminist." I am a straight man who is not very proud of my sex thus far. Thank you again. They are 2 very brilliant women.
I now have 2 terrific couples that I can watch and make me feel happy, Michelle and Barrack, and Jane and Lily. Wish my parents would have been like either of these couples.
Christiane Amanpour did a really great job with this interiew. It's nice to see a host delve beyond the superficial content while still being respectful of the guests and showing genuine understanding. Love learning more about these icons.

So love Lily Tomlin & her art of comedy a dear gem! Read and enjoyed the book~ Lily Tomlin: The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe written by Jane Wagner's wonderful prose! Never saw the play~ oh would love Lily to do so now :) Still a contemporary masterpiece. Highly recommend!
i was in high school when I watched Lily on Laugh In. Edith Ann and Ernestine the phone operator. The incredible shrinking woman, is still relevant today.

I love Lily Tomlin and I love Jane Wagner they are two of my favorite celebrities I can’t believe that they are both married to each other and also Lillys good friends with Jane Fonda which is good and they did a movie that’s called 9 to 5 with their friend Dolly Parton and I love Dolly Parton and I love Jane Fonda and I love this video and I’m so glad that I got to hear both of their voices I love both of them and I think they’re both living legends I’m so glad that I got to hear their voices I’m so glad that I got to hear Lillys voice and Jane’s voice

I grew up watching the magic school bus all the time. When I was first coming to terms with being gay, finding out my that the voice actress of my favorite teacher is also gay just made it so much easier. Love you Lily
i like the show, i respect this person and her joke, i am glad that couple regardless of their choice stay together for a long time and stay in love with each other
