1 mm/day is the optimum and safe rate. Reducing the daily distraction amount may cause another problem: The bone may consolidate and become hard, making it impossible to lengthen the bone further because the mechanism will be stuck.
Mainly a doctor is in charge of preventing nerve damage ,choose a good doctor never go for the super cheap ones cause sometimes the cheap ones don't have physio therapy which is very very crucial in LL surgery. Basically surgery will not instantly elongate your leg ,it's a slow lengthing process 1mm per day so the body can slowly heal itself. If you want max results then before going for the surgery do alot of stretching for your body to adapt easily during LL process. Although if you're not that flexible doctor will only recommend 2-2.5 inches gain . But if your body is flexible 3-3.5 inches is possible.

I'm 1.55 would rather be 1.70. What about the proportion? Will it look weird? Have you had a patient with a similar situation? Say I extend my femur by 8 cm and my tibea by 7 cm. Or do you have better suggestions? Grateful for answers.
Personally I've seen naturally tall people with super long legs and it's not a big deal for me infact they get more complemented alot compare to a short hoe. No one really cares about proportion except when your planning to enter in the modelling industry but still being taller get more appreciated than a perfect protonated short hoe.
