Welcome to Heroes Next Door! In this video, we're looking at East Brandywine's 2019 Peirce Enforcer Heavy Duty Aerial Ladder. This impressive apparatus is set up for truck company operations, and Deputy Chief Sergio Ora is here to give us a tour.
As we explore the exterior, you'll see the massive ladder extending up to 105 feet and supporting 750 pounds. The truck also features a variety of cutting and breaching tools, including a chainsaw and a Halligan bar. Inside the cab, you'll find state-of-the-art technology, including a touchscreen control panel and a backup camera.
But that's not all! In the new segment on Heroes Next Door (The More You Know), we'll be exploring the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Skill Section K - "Ladders and Rescue". This section is an essential part of firefighter training, and in this episode, we'll be joined by the East Brandywine Fire Company to demonstrate some of the techniques and equipment used in ladder and rescue operations.
