Well, being practical, I was going to say it's because this trap was the simplest and the most unexpected.

@@michaelcherokee8906 umm, actually.... i was gonna say because it wasnt a trap. that was an attack with an unorthodox weapon, same as an anvil kill. a trap needs to essentially have the victim unalive themselves, because of the circumstances set by the trapper.

The traps on Last Life didn't work half of the time because the difficulty was on Easy for almost the entirety of the season lol

i havnt seen the stats, but from personal experience in bedrock edition, it made a massive difference in how many hits you can take

And it's important to note that armour toughness is more effective for higher amounts of damage taken, which makes it very important for late-game combat and axe combat

Yeah, my understanding of armor toughness is that you have higher damage reduction the more damage you take. So you might take a similar amount of damage when being hit by, say, a zombie. But something more damaging like fall damage or explosions or axe crits you will take much less damage than diamond

I think the panic is really going to set in when people are down to an hour or less and they have no choice but to try and kill someone. Time instead of lives does create a different dynamic but I think it'll still be interesting to watch.
