I don't hate the splitting of this, but there's some wacky inconsistencies since the podcast isn't recorded this way. Let's start with the gold cards.. like Agonizing Siphon! :P

@@Chrono356 yeah was looking to see if others noticed. i still dont think its very good as you spent presumably two cards to do this , but i expect to get blown out by it at some point

Wow, I'm really shocked Bloodsoaked Altar got such a high grade, I would have said D or D+. My gut says the life loss combined with the creature sac will end up too much to actually activate this multiple times, but I'll give it a try before judging.

I don't know, there is a fair amount of support for it and repeated 5/5 fliers are just impossible to deal with in limited. Yeah it is a 3 for 1 into several 2 for 1s and the life loss is about another card but so many card are bad late game a 5/5 flier is easily worth multiple cards. With token creators and incidental lifegain I think this will dominate games in the decks made to use it.

I lost to it in a big way. He just discarded and brought back skeletons with it, making endless supply of 5/5 flyers

Thought distortion is good versus draw blue decks. They have tons of spells and enchantments/artifacts. Late game especially. Worst deck to face as black for me. If you don’t draw well and end early, they have those ominous waves that make 8/8 kraken.

I don't get why they're so dismissive of vengeful warchief. It's basically a 5 mana 5/5 which is very decent stats for mana, if your opponent doesn't attack you just so it doesn't become bigger then... hurray and if you do happen to have life payments then it really goes off but even if it becomes a 6/6 then 7/7 over the course of a couple of turns it's still great because you only paid 5 mana for it.

20:03 @lsv There is a rare vampire lord in this set. I'm sure you'll notice when you cover rares next week. Edit: I just looked it up, and it's uncommon. I'm guessing that you'll realize that later in this very podcast.

The splitting is these is pretty frustrating. Not only do they not play sequentially on youtube, but having to find where you're starting to actually talk about cards is frustrating. I like you guys but I don't want to hear you go over your rating scale 5-6 times.

Discard a giant technicolor nightmare, pay 2 life and bury a zombie to summon a demon. then sack a wall to put the technicolor nightmare in play and return the wall to your hand. The altar makes that blood of bones about 10x stronger and it was already a budget raise from the grave at 4 mana. Pay 2 life and sack 1 lamb for a Demon and the Eldritch horror of your choice. that's some rank S terror there. B-, sounds like cold war era Romanian Olympic ice skating judges XD
