@@maxpower1293 Fred was a character. Maybe a true ass in the early days in LB but guy is way more calculated & reflective than people give him credit for. He was never the greatest lyricist & that’s part of the charm of the music they made. And I mean it with love bc I have a tree dolla bill yall$ tatt.
I have that guitar as my ringtone. I think Sam Rivers played lead guitar + bass on this track along and Lonely World (Sam originally played a 6 string before a bass).
This is one of my favorite LB songs. Every time I listen to this song, I'm always air drumming starting at 3:38. That snare combo, then I'm symbol crashing throughout the chorus.
@@Philip_Taylor It’s really not. Wes hadn’t been in the band for two years by this point. They had Mike Smith from Snot, but that went to hell and they deleted all of his parts, so Durst just wound up doing most of the guitar on this album.
@@Leekolable also I think Sam did the guitar parts for Down Another Day and Let Me Down, wish Sam would continue to do some guitar parts here and there.
honestly...if the album was full of experimental songs like this...holy shit it probably would have charted. this song is, hands down, the best track on the album. i saw them right as Wes had rejoined, they played this song...threw me off guard for sure, but even though Wes didn't write/record it, it's such a Wes riff that he took and ran with. it completed that show.
People who talk smack about this album are no avid music listeners. Some of Limp Bizkits best music is on Rests May Vary. Yes, even without the infamous Wes. I like RMV more than I like Chocolate Starfish, Still Sucks, and maybe even more than Significant Other.

except durst is the main influence behind the music's style. don't believe? watch numerous behind the scenes of the recording sessions like the one with tutp1 and you'll see how much he directs the direction of the song.. in otherwords, take fred out of equation and it wouldn't anymore sound like bizkit. Fred IS limpbizkit.
The instrumentation on their music is phenomenal to say the least. I remember back when this album came out, there was a lot of hullabaloo over it because apparently a fan made the intro to this song, and the band stole it without making any deals with the fan.
This track simply doesn't need vocals to be brilliant. Including vocals to it on the album version was not necessary. It could have easily made the album as it was.
It's amazing how people now love this song but at that time this record was hated ... and it's really annoying because only the real fans have enjoyed that album since its release
Buddy ya gotta drop the “only real fans” stuff and embrace fellow fans, as in people who generally enjoy shit you do. Don’t gotta bitch if they don’t like your favorite song dawg. LBs been my favorite band since 1998 and I rarely even listen to them anymore but does that make me not a fan? Whole reason I ever learned to play guitar was cause of Wes Borland. Just saying man even though I loved RMV album when it came out I was an idiot in a lot of more important ways. People change dawg.
I agree, i still like the first two the most, but this album with Mikey was a little different. Gold cobra was decent two. Shit its all good, just this is a different bizkit. Still good though.
@@BusinessZeus oh believe me i loved this one allot, gotta remember it wasn't a hit or something the band really pushedat the time. RU-vid wasnt a thing yet. Over time it got buried because of that. Its either you had the cd, mp3, or cassette.
@@daveshouse8105 Damn. Removed Boiler because I listened to it one more time and then 3 more times and I like it. When I made that comment I was binge-ing on all the popular LB tracks and they just melted my brain and just threw it on my shit list sorray. But I heard this track like quarter and a half year ago and saw this comment and I always wanted to comment back but time passed by and I just forgot
@@BusinessZeus yeah lol cassette and cds were still the thing then lol mp3 players were extremely expensive then lol. I been into limp Bizkit since i heard faith and was like wtf i know this song but hell yeah he screams in it! Then got that album then significant other and been loyal ever since lol.
as we listen to the greatness of this track we can conclude that the thing that damaged this record was Fred rapping random stuff on top of excellent tracks.
life was good: finished grade 6th, trading pokemon cards, new pokemon movie, dragonball Z, taking guitar lessons, playing ps2, bunking class, acting like a punk thinking i a soldier.. those classmates and friends, stay overs.. long gone..sweet memeories remain. takes me back to yesterday
I know what you mean. However 2003 was definitely a stressful year for me as it was the start of the war in Iraq. I was only 17 at the time and was jamming to this album, but at the same time stressing out about so many dying over there. A lot of times when I hear Creamer or The Only One, I start thinking of headlines of "10 killed in roadside bomb in Iraq" or "3 troops killed today in Baghdad". Its a weird feeling.
