Good ear my friend, production definitely played a major role in all those Nu Metal releases and there are some super talented geniuses behind all those amazing recordings... producers, engineers, mixers etc. Research "Dave Fortman", he was involved in creating much of those bands "sound". His crown jewel being the Evanescence debut album imo... absolutely brilliant under all hats and if anyone wants to record, he's still at it and has a small recording studio in Florida with his friend/bandmate from their band Ugly Kid Joe. Give him a call and book some time!

Break Stuff is something else, for a riff. It takes a lot of work to make one chord sound interesting. Between Wes Borland and John Otto to elevate that sound with the beat, what a couple of madmen. It's definitely one of the band's best songs they ever did, oddly enough. Man, that song is heavy as fuck, as a result. Lyrics are on point.
