+Axerocker85 Maybe it is true, but RATM will never play it gain. They split, because they are rich now. They have abandonned us. I never liked LB, but none could play it like RATM used to, and LB is paying tribute.
+Wiolshit They're doing a stellar job of cocking it up something royal xD The drummer and bassist were good-ish. Fred durst sounds like he's mid-exorcism and the guitar sounds like it's doing a Jerry Lee Lewis.
Sadly Tim was crying like a baby on MTV awards and climbed up to show how upset he is and what a snowflake he is. RATM fell apart after that...... Don’t mess with the Bizkit
@@sonofachristian5637Rage Against the Machine are the Pioneers the king of this, they didn't fall off, I guarantee you. They have way better songs than limp bizkit, calm like a bomb excites the hell out of me even still till this day, and that song is literally almost 30 years old.
Guitar sounds like it plays some parts differently than on the original. Fred failed the vocals, he had zero anger in him(anger is a gift). I actually think fred could have sang this properly in the 90's
I agree, but i think it was a good cover as there are very few people who can pull off those RATM vocals properly except maybe Maynard Keenan or Chester Bennington.
Why are people hating on Wes Borland and him playing the guitar. It sounds fine. The reason it sounds weird is because of the type of guitar he is using and he is known for doing his own type of style when he plays the guitar. Jesus people learn your shit about band members.
Type of guitar had nothing to do with anything. I've seen people play heavy metal with a hollow-bodied guitar (look them up) and they all have the same sound. It's all about the electronics inside and the type of distortion or pedals you're using. As for this guy, it was way out of tune from Drop D, the distortion was way too much, and he wasn't even playing the right notes. I'm not saying he's a bad guitarist, but here, he was shit.
The guitar was extremely out of tune. It is not really the type of guitar he was playing that is the problem - the tuning was just incredibly off. He was playing his parts just fine (I love Wes Borland and his playing style btw, no hate) but the guitar was out of tune, that is all.
I think this proves exactly how much people are missing music like this! This was an average Joe cover but WOW did the crowd felt it in their bones! RATM in 2013?= legendary + middle finger to David Guetta!!!
You are missing the Point here. They are Paying respect to a Band that they admire and was an Influence to them. Of course they don't sound like Rage against the Machine. But it is their Version of that great Song and the Crowd seems to be enjoying it, So what's wrong with that? Ah?
Limp bizkit is a good band. I enjoy their music, it's like a snapshot in time that will never ever be repeated. I don't see why others hate these guys so much despite them writing some really catchy songs.
+Lewis Witton the biggest nu metal band of all times is a comedy band? aaaaaaaaalrighty then. haters gonna hate. fred durst influenced a whole generation.
don't listen amoredfist, i was laughing pretty hard, and yes you're correct this is a comedy band and the second biggest let down of the late 90's/ 2000's. Even Tim Commerford from rage against the machine and audioslave apologize to fans that their (Rage against the machine's) music influenced such a shitty band.
Limp asks "Are you ready to party?!" then breaks into one the most non-party songs? WTF? Does he even understand _what_ he's singing? Limp is likable but disposable. Rage is important and eternal. My $.02. I think he just likes to drop the f-bomb to be a badass.
I do not hate Limp Bizkit, but the vocals did not feel right for this song, and the guitar was incredibly out of tune. Otherwise, this is actually a pretty decent cover.
+Timliu92 Not just me thinking "that guitar is out" then? lol. The vocals grew on me to be honest. Wouldn't mind hearing a studio version if they chose to do one.
+Chris Winter Yeah I guess the vocals can grow with you over time lol. Maybe I am personally used to Zach's powerful and angry vocals than Fred's angstier one. Hahahaha
+Timliu92 agreed, Fred's vocals didn't feel right, as it is the case of any of their cover songs. He sounds great only doing LB stuff, anything else sounds crap. Wes' guitar however was pretty good IMHO, the beginning was somewhat different, I think the biggest difference is that the original Killing is in D minor, and Wes is C#, and sounds different. Keep in mind that it's a cover, played live so it's not gonna sound anything like the original. :)
Why so many shitty comments? The audio doesn’t do it justice. Sounds great live. Video doesn’t capture the energy in the crowd either...it really wasn’t that bad. It’s just a concert cover ffs. Even RATM never played it live in concert just like the recorded version.
Everybody hate on fred, everybody talks bad about him, everybody beefs on fred then why is the croud not booin there all on the beat and headbanging, can someone explain please.
I don't know men. I'm listening to stuff like dream theater and rush etc. and yes this cover is not really that good. But why the fuck do you all hate LimpBizkit I think they are awesome.
1. he sings it like a chick 2. too much gain on the distortion 3. bass too quiet (the bass plays a huge part of the song) on other side the drummer played it okay
After 1 hour of drum lesson any 10 year old could play every RATM song. Not that drums are not on point, but they are incredibly simple, I give these guys no credit.
you wanna hear a decent RATM cover? Type in "Bombtrack by Leo", or "Killing In The Name by Igor" these are the only two good RATM covers I've heard that are not trying to be a complete copy or comedic satire.
yeah you can give them shit for covering this song and that it'll never be as good as the original yadda yadda yadda...but when a band covers another band's song it's usually out of respect for the original band. and seeing as RATM pioneered rap metal, i'd say Limp Bizkit has mad respect for them. so kudos to them for interpreting the song best they could
+ben garcia Dude I agree , wtf is with all these haters and WHY ARE THEY WATCHING THE VIDEO IF YOU HATE EM SO MUCH......This band has a great bassist guitarist and a hell of a drummer not to mention a DJ....... Yeah theyr'e chocolate starfish was week and some songs were corny but they are a good band ... I recommend "GOLDEN COBRA" I'm a reviewer for METAL HAMMER , PEOPLE ...................... Sometimes we all like different styles but their are so many people that gotta hate, well be passionate but don't put down a musician if you can't even play a fuckin' instrument!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ohhh shit its limp!!! man I was a young buck when I saw these guys lol they where awesome back in the day gave a good concert........fred came out in the crown when he played in Pontiac MI walked right in front of me said "whATS UP" U DONT SEE THAT SHIT NO MORE
It's amazing seeing half the comments on here people saying the guitars out of tune etc. Doesn't anyone actually know that Bizkit mainly play in B Standard or C#.
Tim Crommerford, RATM bassist, actually apologized about this. He said he was sorry he "inspired" those guys, not for this song, but for their whole career... Kinda sets the mood.
I would've liked to have seen the 10 minute facepalm that ensued after the members of RATM found out this happened. Limp Bizkit are the very embodiment of pretty much everything they hate about America.
