Some quick context. "Hot Dog" is supposed to be a diss track towards Trent Reznor who said Limp Bizkit sucks in an interview. Fred wanted to interpolate "Closer" as a middle finger to Trent. The irony there is now Trent makes royalties and has a writing credit on "Hot Dog" lol

@@lordtrigon1733 They had no choice. They didnt get permission at first to use his lyrics therefore they had to give him a writing credit after he allowed it or they could've been sued or had the song removed. "“Fred lifted choruses off three or four songs of mine then when his record was going to print, realized "F**k, I'd better ask permission first or I might get sued!" I let him do it. I wasn't gonna hold his record up.” Solely because Reznor gave that permission, he has a songwriting credit on "Hot Dog". Reznor never worked on that song or with Durst. It is also worth noting that Reznor once dismissed the idea that he feuded with Durst as "almost comical".

Results May Vary is an interesting analisis of Fred Durst mind during 2003 because he was dealing with many unresolved issues from his high school years mixed with the hatred and criticisms from LB peak years. Meanwhile, in Phenomenom and Cream (Radio Is Dead) Fred try to appears being happy with the success of his band, but in reality he was not happy at all. Losing Wes Borland was a huge blow for Limp Bizkit, but i guess Fred Durst's own midlife crisis affected more the recording of the album.

one misconception that always annoys me is the running idea that the columbine situation was caused by bullying or "two kids that were suffering". They were the bullys and were known to have picked on other kids a lot, as well as having a fair few amount of friends. They were just sociopaths who did what they did because they desired to do so, it's not a "revenge against bullies" situation and it always bugs the hell out of me when people push that false narrative

Results May Vary is far from the worst album ever. It's actually underrated and aged well. It stands out from the other albums. It should have been a two disk album because there's over 10 songs that didn't make the CD but it's out there online as a B-Side album all songs were meant for Results May Vary. I love RMV, my biggest complaint was that "Crack Addict" didn't make it on there which was a great song they haven't performed since 2003 at Wrestlemania 19. It would have been known as one of their biggest songs ever had it got a big budget video.

Fun Fact: "Red Light Green Light" was released just after Snoop Dogg said he was going to stop putting down women in his lyrics to set a better example to his kids, but yet there was a quote in his part of that song that went, "We like to drink, Talk s--t and *spit at b----es*". Needless to say, the whole quitting smoking weed PR stunt that happened recently was not the first time Snoop Dogg was labeled as a hypocrite.....

Also, Here are Suggestions for albums: Diabły wzywają - Czarci Świt The slamburglars - cookie monstrosity (You can thank Rate Your Music for these picks) Would be cool if we got some extreme metal on here, even though its kinda hard to find bad albums (since almost all of them are gems).

You know, one thing I've come to love about your channel since I discovered it is how it doesn't matter how unusual or even unpleasant a song might sound, it's always worth analyzing for what it is, as long as it's trying to SAY something... And that pairs really well, I think, with you tearing into this album for how it (for a good chunk of its runtime at least) isn't saying anything. It feels like an ACTUAL critical analysis instead of just dogpiling on something that's already hated, and that is a feat in and of itself when it comes to Limp Bizkit

There's 4 B-Sides from this record called Lean On Me, Relentless, Poison Ivy & When It Rains, How all didn't make the record shocks me. I'll be honest in saying RMV is a record I spin often and call and all time fav. It's been with me through multiple different states of mind and LB as a whole is a perfect band for that due to the variety in their song subjects. Interesting thing about the back story of this record. If you watch the MTV making of Documentary (Great insight on the creation process) you get a good view of Fred during the making of. He had a relationship scandal with Britney Spears during the recording and it likely inspired a lot of the lyrical content. Another one is Underneath The Gun lyrically was written when Fred had only 24 hours left to write lyrics for a song before big tour so the stress and emotion is very real on it.

Take A Look Around is one of my favorite songs of all time and Break Stuff is an all timer for Best Angsty Teenager song. It's a group of dorks having fun making music to party to. I'm a long time Bizkit enjoyer but I've been avoiding RMV until recently because I was in the "no Wes no party" boat, and I have to admit, it has surprised me, a few of the tracks have stuck with me, yet I believe that some of these songs, despite how good they are, just don't "belong" to LB or more specially Fred's writing and singing style. Here’s the thing. First of I think you should’ve looked into the background of making of this record or if you have you should’ve referenced it. With Borland out all the pressure fell on Durst and he was the one who was supposed to make it work. So many of the songs were written by him with some help from Mike and other people in the industry and the band of course. With that came a lot of frustration and uncertainty and if anything it’s probably the band’s most genuine record since their first album. Because with significant other and chocolate starfish the band has become a kind of hype up band. It wasn’t much about personal experiences of Fred. So the album is what he was experiencing at the time, on one hand it’s Borland leaving and all the problems it caused with the hate towards Fred in general mixed in there and on the other hand Fred still felt fortunate for being in a position he was with millions of fans and all the success. I think this is where “I’m underneath the gun” the pressure and the hate, and “I’m underneath the sun” how truly lucky he was with his overall success. It’s not a song just about *uicide. That’s the duality of the record mixed in with the fact that Fred still had to account for what the band’s fan base wanted to hear. So on one hand he had to put up a facade that he was happy and on the other hand he was happy in many ways because he was truly successful in his career. And he had to think that he could pull it off without Wes and in some moments he did feel like it was possible… so I wouldn’t say those happy moments were all fake. it’s conflicting emotions he is a person after all. Confidence comes and goes. In terms of lyrics Fred was never really good at it and it isn’t Bizkit’s selling point really so to address lyrical context as much as you did really doesn’t make much sense to me. Which is why I feel like Lonely World, Creamer, Almost over are some of the band’s best tracks on the record. If it flows it flows… LB is not a band with lyrics that need to be dissected in hopes to find a deeper meaning. I am not a big fan of rap really but Red Light Green light always felt dope to me. Repetitive lyrics really don’t take away much from the sound in any of their tracks… look at modern trap or pop space repetitiveness is where it’s at. If anything Fred was ahead of his time in that regard… some see it as lazy writing I see it as if it flows let it flow. “All that easy” has amazing atmosphere and instrumental is great. Eat you alive is of course a fantasy and definitely has a place on the record… and I actually do like the music video. Overall I feel like your point of view is very subjective and uninformed. There was a special on MTV for the making of this record and it really peels back the curtain of what was going on and at no point do you reference that. It’s just pretty clear what was going on during the making of this record yet you draw no parallels between that and how the album ended up sounding in the end.

Album I recently found that may legitimately be the worst I’ve ever heard (and is also pretty obscure): “There is Something Wrong” by Aftermath. I rate music on AOTY and it’s one of the few dead-drop zeroes I’ve ever given an album. It’s hard to do it justice but basically imagine your drunk uncle at thanksgiving ranting about how the government is run by lizard people, put it over some of the worst thrash metal ever made, and then add an additional dash of random confusing bs for no reason. I seriously think it could beat some of the albums that are currently on your wall of shame lol

Great video ! The real story of how Rollin was made is producer Swizz Beats came up with the beat for what is now called the remix and Fred asked the band to make a rock version of it. It's in a 2008 Kerrang interview with Wes Borland, in which he also admits they got sued over "Getcha Groove On". He was still bitter about the band back then and talking mad sh*t. From what I remember he said "Rollin" was like "a kids song" that "straight up sucked". A year later they reunited and the interview was scraped off the internet (as far as i know).

You haven't convinced me that LB is an entertaining band, but your review is enlightening, insightful and respectful as usual.

It's funny. I really couldn't care less about Limp Bizkit but I love your thoughtful & insightful delivery. Great job brother. Oddly enough my brother is dragging me to see them this summer on the Loserville tour @ the PNC Arts Center in NJ. This kinda' makes me a little excited for it! Keep up the stellar reviews.

"My Way" definitely was the best choice for this Wrestlemania. It also encapsulates this specific period of time. The song is just such a mood.

IMO Fred's film 'The Fanatic' is his magnum opus, more than making up for the audio assault that he forced on us. I don't expect him not to ruin shit again. He likely will.

I agree so much with Getcha groove on, i always loved the og version and it's irritating that they replaced it with the inferior version on spotify, this is why i still have a cd player 😂 i love banging this album in my car, cruising to My way and Rollin' never gets old, love that guitar tone on Take a look around too, it's really nice and refreshing to see someone review LB with a level head not just for the purpose of hating them for the sake of it like most people seem to do Great review my man, subbed.

Now I have been asking for this album to be on this show for a decently long time. That being Find the Courage to Feel by That vegan teacher, which is an album infamous for bad singing, bad songwriting and some offensive lyrics (especially a track that is comparing the suffering of Animals to the death of George Floyd)

Scott Weiland (rest in peace) was the singer of Stone Temple Pilots and other namable bands such as velvet revolver (guns n roses.) he was not an instrumentalist on Hold On, he was a vocalist.

I was excited when this video popped up in my feed, and thought “One hour? Well that explains the wait. He went all out for this one!” …and now I’m coming to terms with the fact that I now have to listen to Chocolate Starfish. Thanks Garrett…but anyway! Instrumentally this album is actually great. A bit generic in places sure, but with the exception of Phenomenon and the bad idea of replacing the jam session in the original Behind Blue Eyes with that stale, bizarre aforementioned Speak-And-Spell thing this album is a great piece of nu metal chugging. This album would be amazing if Durst wasn’t on it. I’m sorry. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and went in thinking the hate was overhyped. OH MY GOD Everything from his delivery always being either lackluster or over the top, to his out of tune singing, to the Federline level rhyme scheme. There is next to nothing redeeming about this album vocally outside of the Snoop feature. BOARD OF SHAME SPOILERS BELOW That being said I agree with the album not being on the board. The album isn’t even in the top 15 of my own list. A vocal mess? Yes. A terrible album? Not as much as you might think

One album that i would love you to cover but it's also hard to talk about by... multiple reasons is Eternal Enemies by Emmure, a band that has always been a laughing stock within the metalcore and deathcore genre and that apparently, every member but lead singer Frankie Palmeri quitted the band right after it got released
