Lin could speak for 5 hours straight and it still wouldn’t be enough. I could listen to him y’all for hours on end. He’s so intelligent, talented, genuine and passionate. Love him so so much
@@BrokeCanadian Hype is a colloquially used adjective that means the about the same thing and is commonly used in informal situations like the RU-vid comments section of a LMM interview. I appreciate your concern though, my guy :)
I'm only 18 minutes in and I'm already taken aback by how nuanced and though-provoking this is. He's a really intelligent and inspiring dude. We need more people like him in the world.
Lin is a smart guy who seems to know what he is talking about very well. I love his intelligent mind. His ability to answer each question intelligently.
1:04:47 might just be my favourite Lin moment EVER. As someone with a disability, it makes me so happy to hear him say - with no hesitation - he'd be happy to cast someone like that. Just when I think I cannot love him any more...
I want to be like Lin but I can't because I'm dumb and not charming at all. Life is sad. . . . . Edit: the comments in this...I just read them all and they're so nice, thank you so much!! since I wrote this (overdramatic) comment I have become more confident in the things I do and I haven't stopped learning and creating new stuff. I have a very long way to go yet, but I have learned to be more patient with myself and just try to enjoy the process.
I think Lin would strongly disagree (not like I’m one to speak for him, but anyway); everyone has their talents, and anyone can become great. Little tip though: Aspiring to be ‘like’ someone is great, but don’t ‘become’ them. If you want to, you can become a great writer, singer, or wherever the thing you love lies, but you’re not gonna become it by making a parody/copy of In The Heights or Hamilton. You can do it!!
Elisa Alonso awww cheer up, something might strike a cord and your ingenuity, charm, and good stuff will flow, maybe in some other field. Stars come in different sizes. You are one to shine, someday.
Such an inspiration... I'm from Orlando and I can't say how much Lin-Manuel Miranda's words meant to me and my friends who were affected by the Pulse shooting. Love is love.
This was one of the best interviews i've watched, the questions and topics were somehow strung together fluedly and they made sense and the responses from Lin were elequent and intelligent and truley felt honest, (the shoes. It's the shoes.) And it felt like watching a conversation between old friends and I love these kinds of interviews for that reason. I really dislike the two-minute interviews because they all feel the same and don't have time to actually go in depth about something and they just feel rushed. I could listen to interviews like this for hours like a podcast and really get involved in the coversation, even though i'm not even there.
question: "would you ever consider casting a disabled person." Lin-manuel, having picked up his coffee cup a second before the question was asked, taking a sip, AND THEN NOT EVEN PUTTING THE CUP DOWN before answering: "absolutely." AND THEN LEAVING IT AT THAT. i love this man with all of my heart. 🥺
"Will you ever consider casting a disabled person in Hamilton?" Lin: Absolutely I am disabled and am a HUGE fan of Hamilton after seeing it on Disney+ and hearing him say that makes me love him even more as a human being. Thanks for allowing us to represented Lin. I stan.
Mao Yang, as you probably know, Live theater, which includes Broadway, is dark because of Covid19. In addition, Hamilton will probably become a movie and not be performed live until the time comes when it can be used by other theatre, ie community and even H.S. Therefore, yea, it was great P.R. for him to reply to you ASAP, yea, I suspect unless someone with a disability, is cast in the movie, it probably won't happen. Yet, let's reconsider this. What do you infer to by 'disability'? Hummmm....? Sincerely? If you are referring to a physical disability that's visually easily seen, I got it. BUT, (BIG BUT) odds are there is probably someone in one of the numerous casts that has a disability that cannot be seen. Case in point, celiac sprue, not being able to digest gluten, is an autoimmune disability. I'm sure there are other disabilities that are not visual. Yes, I have first hand experience of theatre and disabilities. I'm referring to job participants, coworkers, family, friends and now.....myself. Think bigger, Regardless of where you're coming from. Thank you for requesting.
@@MargaretJEllis While I understand where you are coming from and I know there are many people with disabilities out there yes my hope is that someone with physical disabilities will be cast because we are rarely represented. To date, there has only been one person with a physical disability ever cast in a play as part of the main cast and that was Ali Stroker. I get that any and all disabilities are hard to deal with in their own way and each deserves to be represented, but I feel as if there is more doubt in what we can and can't do compared to those that go unseen and we need to change that.
There are axe indeed many different disabilities, and many are not visible. It's extraordinary that Alex Lacamoire, the arranger and musical director of Hamilton and many other shows, is partially deaf.
wow just wow it is so interesting to hear his thoughts about anything and everything and it makes you think too and that the same time its fun and funny
I can honestly say I've been worried about the hour a day my grandson plays minecraft. I've been worried how this will affect his brain....thank you Lin for easing my worry of this. 🥰
Lo and behold, In the Heights is in post-production and Hamilton: The Musical is released in film version featuring the OG cast on Disney+ because Disney execs are no fools and snapped up the broadcasting rights back in 2016. If it weren't for Covid, we'd be waiting another 2 years for a theatrical release.
i want to know more about how you improved spots to connect different parts, what tricks did you use create the representative and symbolistic elements of the art.
to me, I dont care if people do not say my name, they can slander it as much as they may wish, any impact I will make will not be any less impactful. any impact i make even if not noticed was still made and will have a butterfly affect no matter how small
