THEY WHAT? Yeah, i agree. Lina's voice actress alone is enough to make this anime worth watching. I don't know much about japanese voice actors but i'm sure she must be one of the best.
I can't believe that animes today become better on the technical level but are lacking everything else compared to the classics. The best example would be Konosuba that is somewhat the current generation of Slayers. The animations are quite good but it is clear that there is no TLC involved. While this scene alone oozes charm, and you can see that the writers had some fun here. Even if you consider how bad of a working environment animation was back then and still is today. Not just in Japan but in general.
Classics has better facial expressions, animations more lively, no CG, very detailed about the sketching. Nowadays, the animators to use CG, and the work is way more esier for them than animators back then, thus they become too attach to the easy way.
@@tigermafia6251 I'm not sure they care so much about it being 'easier' but 'cheaper' The more money they can make the more likely they'll embrace a technique
Well I think they kinda had to "have fun" with it because of its rating of pg-13 and the moral standards of television (couldn't show a woman actually being tortured after all).
I love the sound effects when Noonsa is revealed. It's like seeing a new giant mecha being revealed. The only thing missing is a reflection of light followed by a sound.
Don’t be ashamed of watching the dub tbh I prefer the dub of the show I think it’s overall better than the Japanese version but I also like both versions
I am all too aware of the original japanese version of the scene in the LN. Did the recent english rerelease revert it? I've been meaning to read them myself.
@@Fleshwit The recent English re-release has the scene play pretty much exactly as it did in the original Japanese version. Definitely not a fan. There's a line between shock value and bad taste. The anime version of the scene definitely works better.
@@l_archives Zolf begs everyone one by one to rape Lina and they all say no for various reasons. Dilgear can't get it up for a human girl, Rodimus isnt there because he refuses to torture a girl to begin with, Noonsa tries but doesnt know how humans mate so he fails. Zolf can't do it himself because he says his burns would cause him a lot of pain, and Zelgadis says he doesn't really like doing it with crying and screaming girls, even after Zolf gets on his knees and tearfully begs him to rape Lina.
@@Fleshwit Oof, thats a yikes. I never read the LNs back in the day and things like that make me glad. It's actually a funny, slapsticky scene like this instead of....that
Yes. Apparently, in the novels, she was meant to be completely flat but the artist who designed her appearance for the covers gave her a bit of chest because that was what he liked apparently?
Yes, she gets mad about flat jokes. Also, flat jokes happen in other anime. I think you can find jokes about "Pettanko." There was a flat joke in this Sailor Moon episode and clip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BOiSURxPLz8.html
