She could sing my least favorite songs and I'd buy that CD and listen to it all the time! I was fortunate to see and hear her TWICE in concert. The most under-rated female vocalist of our time!!! :)
Linda is one of the best voices of a the past century and she is woefully under appreciated. I have had the great pleasure of seeing her in concert several times in very intimate venues and the even greater pleasure of visiting with her and exchanging a few emails. She is a truly gifted vocalist and a charming and genuinely lovely person.
I own all of Linda's cds. There's no doubt that she possesses the greatest voice of any singer anywhere! Even though I play my cds, I love listening/watching her on RU-vid.
I think I've watched this performance of this beautiful song 100 times - here on RU-vid and on my DVD of this concert. I get choked up every time. Linda Eder is simply the best vocalist I have ever heard. Anything she sings is so full of power and emotion. There is no one who can hold a candle to her.
I wonder if when all is done Anyone heard my voice But from the start, we have no choice Our journeys just begin I'll never know if I was right Did I fight hard enough? Or when the battles grew too rough Should I have given in? But here I stand and swear to you I did the best that I could do I know my voice was just a whisper But someone may have heard There were nights the moon above me stirred And let me grab a hold My hands have touched the gold My heart's been driven by extremes Blind with dreams, tight with fear But still, God knows that I was here And I was so alive And now I lay the past to rest For in the end, I did my best You have to live the life you're given And never close your eyes You hold on and stare into the skies And burn against the cold For any moment you might find the gold And there was joy through it all And I am standing tall I know my voice was just a whisper Someone must have heard There were nights the moon above me stirred And let my life take hold I rode across that sky and once I touched the gold Here in my own two hands I once held the gold
Holy wow! Just can't hide my emotions as she angelically takes me to a place full of innocence, freedom. and happiness. Have my watery eyes though. Lovelots ....
an amazing singer with a voice not to be believed: I've had the pleasure of seeing her in concert 10 times............her voice just blows away the entire audience. we're entranced by the power and beauty of her voice.
An artist with which one can truly use the word phenomenal. A great gift, a glorious voice, a most wonderful artist. I am consistently and joyously moved by her incomparable voice...
My dearest Linda, every time I treat myself to this Heavenly-inspired song I find myself reaching for a tissue! Or two!! Or three!!! The lyrics and your exquisite delivery and performance of them pierce through to my heart as if there were no flesh or bone to impede them!! God has granted me several moments and experiences that truly were "gold", and I will be grateful for them until I take my last breath. One of those pieces of "gold" is having the opportunity to hear you sing this song whenever I need/want to hear it!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Much love and all good wishes to you!
I watched/listened to this again.........Linda's voice is unreal!! a true gift from G-d, and I am so thankful that she's chosen to share it with us. I'd love to see her perform again in person.
Just another masterpiece from one of the greatest vocal masters of our generation! When you’re a master, masterpieces are a dime a dozen. The only other singers I can think of that are of this caliber within the last half century are Sandi Patty, David Phelps, Anthony Warlow, and Lea Selonga.
Magnificent as always. Had the pleasure of meeting you in Boston. You invited me and my friend to join you for a drink after the show. it was one of the most pleasant memories ever. Thank you. You are truly a love. Francis Leahey
Even though I didn't find her years ago, my wife and I are thrilled to be able to see her in Charlotte on November 22, 2022. What a great surprise to learn of this concert.
As with so many songs that she has sung, I have liked this from the beginning (when I eventually found her, that is), but, having said that, this performance is absolutely wonderful.
I hesitate to use the word 'standards' when describing those songs of yours, which I must, from time to time, revisit. Most are capital, or sublime, etc. This one is truly stellar. Brava. Until the next time.
I found a "Mind the Gap" Concert from 2011 on RU-vid featuring Rodrick Dixon and Anthony Kearns - and I noted that one singer did an outstanding job on a song I never liked very much - What I did for Love. That was Linda and I have recently educated myself on just how great a singer she is. Just wonderful.
I'm a fan from the Philippines Miss Linda, I first heard Gold when Nora Aunor a Filipina actress and recording star sang Gold during her 50th birthday concert 20 years ago, I deliberately looked for the original singer
oofahman. You're right.........I've been blessed and fortunate enough to see/hear Linda quite a few times. I have every cd she's made. am waiting for the "Live" cd to be issued and will order it. She possesses a magnificent gift of that voice, and I'm thrilled that she shares it with us.
Camille Claudel is probably my favorite of Wildhorn's though I would say this is 90% due to Nan Knighton's amazing score and lyrics. So underrated. THIS is how you do an eleven o'clock song, everyone!
WOW!!! How can I be my age (50s) and never heard of Linda Eder before yesterday. I was doing a search for "I'll be Seeing You" and found Linda's rendition. What an incredible voice. What heart passion expressed so clearly through her voice. I hope she sings that way to the Lord. Truly an amazing voice.
I can't answer that. it's almost not possible unless you had absolutely ZERO interest in anything having to do with singers, music theater, or broadway.

Excellent vocal range and songs with lyrical substance for sure. The "most under-rated female vocalist of our time!!! :)" - I can't pin that on her though from my point of view. That title, I believe would go to Lara Fabian, a better voice than Celine Dion and incredible body gestures that sells every song she performs (and writes!) as if she were performing an opera. Check out Lara's 'Adaggio' or 'Broken Vow'. Nevertheless I enjoyed Linda's performance here.
I adore this song. Hoping to sing it for my NYC debut at 54 Below. Anyone know where I can find SHEET MUSIC to purchase? Can’t find anywhere, seems it was available in a book, but now is unavailable.
this song is from the new musical, "Camille Claudel" now having it's world premier finally at the SIGNATURE THEATER in Alrington (DC area). Starts April 1st.
If the World Basketball Sports has Kobe Bryant+Michael Jordan+Stephen Curry; so does Chess World has Robert James Fischer+Garry Kasparov; the Mathematical Science does with GF Bernhard Riemann+Isaac Newton+James Clerk Maxwell+Leonhard Euler+Carl Friedrich Gauss+”Albert Einstein w/Mileva Marity Maric”; and so does the World of Music expressed in so powerful yet artistically angelic voice too deeply subtle and mathematically balanced in the rare perfection of sound which energy, frequency & resonance are most creatively at play in an orchestra-like integration of form, harmony, melody, rhythm of rarefied singing that dances as it speaks of TRUTH, BEAUTY & GOODNESS of her humanity; yes she does so majestically a genius of a compleat voice that has the power to captivate every heart of man to act w/ peace & unity towards all. She is arguably a most under-rated Best Singer-Female Vocalist in the “World of Music Industry” that sadly each known Female Category Vocalist Music Award like “this & that ‘Musical Award’ ” misses her nomination(s) beyond doubt. That is, her nomination alone puts justice to her rarefied multi-dimensional voice of perfect quality yet equated to add INTEGRITY, HONOUR, and RESPECT to such established World Musical Performing Artist Awards, like the Grammy Award, American Music Award, American Cinema Award, and the like, to include “Presidential Medal of Freedom; or, The Congressional Gold Medal” of USA. She deserves whichever it is awarded to her: a True American Woman in blood & personality embracing the True Ideals of a True American Citizen before all humanity. Yes, she humbly stands out the BEST with her GOD-Gifted Voice of a Genius Musicality. Yes, non-arguably she is one of the BEST Female Vocalists, one among the World’s Top 10 Best Female Artists, 1among Winning Champion Vocalists we are fortunate to witness on Earth. Today, she is as consistently highly talented vocalist as since then back in her competing time of Winning Dimensional Voice so much as until Today’s now she remains 1 of the World Best Female CHAMPION Vocalist(s). She is LINDA EDER.
What do you get when you combine equal portions of Barbara Streisand and Bette Midler and season with a soupçon of Celine Dion......... ......................Linda Eder.
