as a rule of thumb to fans and producers (beat makers) alike, early music from the beginning until about the 1980's from an engineering standpoint, did what's called "Hard Panning" basically they used "Stereo Imagery" separated the channels and extracted the base music to separate the drum track...That's why i love earlier Music because the possibilities are endless with hard panning.
