@@lindap8101 it is all in how you are interpreting it. OPRAH mean't how were you able to reel him in? What did you do to get the most eligible bachelor to marry you? It wasn't mean't to be an insult against Linda at all.
This beast is outrageous and rude. She insisted that they have grand wealth. This woman, oprah, is vulgar, racist and a nasty person. I wish Linda would have told her to fuk off.
We're all missing a lot with Linda McCartney no longer among us. She was warm & wonderful and very, very sorely missed by Paul and their children and by the people who knew & loved her. She had a lot to offer the world.
How can someone who finds joy in the beauty and simplicity in life, someone who has found her soulmate, who raises a family with kindness and integrity, how can she be taken away so soon?? So sad.
It’s the first time I watch anything about Linda Mc Cartney, and I must say I am impressed . It’s so refreshing to see a celebrity wife who’s unaffected by fame and money. She was so real, down to earth and wonderful. Beautiful soul
Linda was grounded long before she met Paul. She really saved Paul's behind when he was well on the way to alcoholic after the Beatles split up. She really is the one who got him out of his misery to start Wings.
@@lanabanana68 , That was in 1984. Thankfully our country has improved regarding mysogeny ... that's why we even pick up on it now. But of course, our society still needs to continue it's improvement in the area of mysogeny.
Betsy Taylor It seems that women interviewers ask the stupidest questions. Oprah is no exception. Oprah, it was Yoko who was blamed for The Beatles breaking up and she was called a witch. Well that comment about MJ liking kids was unfortunate.
I've watched a bazillion Paul McCartney interviews over all the years, but not any (until now) of just Linda being interviewed. I'm not actually surprised by anything here as she seems just like what I always imagined her to be - very real and down to earth. It's good to see that confirmed here, she's as real as it gets. She loves her kids, isn't into things, cooks, cleans, loves her kids etc. No wonder Paul loved her so much and it says a lot about him as well.
@GordanGeeko Linda was extreme down to earth and LOVEY. She reminded me a lot of Princess Diana in her mannerisms and expressions yet so much more secure with her self. RIP Lovely Linda with the lovely flowers in her hair. She certainly brought out the BEST in Paul and helped him become RICH beyond monetary wealth and kept him down to earth. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4rumvGQHRu0.html
I never heard Linda in an interview before and she is really so down to earth and so likeable. What a treasure she was as a friend, wife, mother. Thanks for posting this video was a really good watch. Except for Oprah ugh.
Linda McCartney what a gem. OW on the other hand, smh, oh my goodness surely if her future was solely been based on this interview she would never had made it. "Does he wake up with sleep in his eyes?" 'You get your own groceries?!!!' Soooooo many idiotic questions. Linda was so gracious & the grown up in this conversation.
@@@lucymccartney7724 Yoko was just a different personality than Linda. Calling her a cow means what exactly? What you you have against cows? Linda loves animals and yet I don't believe that she would have liked you called people names especially animal names as if meant to be derogatory. And John's relationship wasn't toxic but John loved her just the way she was. Linda was nothing like Yokp and vice versa. Why do you believe that John's life was any less stable than Pauls? I NEVER read anything that suggest that as HUGE fan of the BEATLES then and now. I loved them ALL then and still as I do now. They were all very similar yet very different personalities. Paul was no saint by all means. When you sad that Paul wouldn't fall for a dominant fan girl yet bitchy confident type you were then totally absurd.
Linda was such a beautiful soul. It makes me sad the her husband tried hard to replace her but was not so lucky. Woman like her are rare. God bless her.
I really liked this -mainly because a close family member of mine was involved in the Mull of Kintyre record.I heard it before it was published and since I was born in that area it has real sentimental meaning to me.I also have very precious photos of my family member and the McCartneys hanging on my wall which Im very proud of-also recording studio pics which were also taken then-nice memories
I have always wondered if any of those bagpipe players ever got any royalties or anything like that for playing on that record... would you know... can you ask your relative that
Oprah is also VERY materialistic and selfish. Good thing that she never had children. She would certainly have had a nanny too even if not working. Orpah also is way TOO selfish to EVER become even vegetarian being she food addiction issues. FOOD is more important to her than any LOVE for animals. I tried to like Oprah yet she was always over rated yet she was lucky in timing as a black woman talk show host. Yet these days there's Wendy William and she's plastic as well yet at least she is VEGAN and has also put her money where her month is.
Oprah looks like such a fool in this interview. Stupid questions and going on about money and The Beatles. These two women are so different...Linda is grounded, humble and so comfortable in her skin and Oprah is the opposite. I love Linda and it's not fair when someone like her is taken from this world too soon.
I have to agree. It seems that Americans always are so awkward I've seen her interviewed by David Hartman and Vicki Lawrence and they asked stupid insulting questions. However when I received Hard Day's Night album for Christmas when I was 5, I wanted to marry Paul. my mother said maybe he'd wait for me. I would be tempted to ask her the same thing. what's it like being married to Paul?
I don't like to be the barer of bad news but this is what the UK press put out at the time because the people were upset when the Beatles broke up and the press blamed Linda and Yoko.
Beautiful Linda, inside and out. You were the best of us. Shine on, you shining star. Glisten and sparkle over us, lovely Linda. I loved it when Linda often referred to Rose, her and Paul’s housekeeper. They gave out her name and respected her identity.
What she says here being asked about what is like being married to Paul is what Paul always said: it was a real marriage. When sadly she passed, Paul's first released song was a cover of "No other baby" . Look at the video. That's a metaphor of their marriage.
Oprah was so rude, obnoxious and really out of line! Linda was such a lady! She is missed in the world! I wish someone would interview Oprah like she’s done to others and she could sit in the that uncomfortable chair!
Linda was a beautiful woman who truly loved Sir Paul to her wedding and death date. I felt so sorry for Sir Paul when Linda died in 1998. R.I.P. lovely lady you are truly missed by your family and fans.
The lovely Linda. She did amazing things in this life so too many people remember her with a lot of love and respect. I agree with all the comments from this video: she was a woman who show to the world truly herself and she was like Paul described her in his songs. There's a famous quote about behind good man, there's a good woman/wife. I'm really sure Linda was a big influence in Paul's life and together taught their kids about values and positive things of life. We'll always remember her like her children and Paul does it!
Linda really had a great sense of humor, despite Oprah's inability to catch any of her jokes. She's WAY to serious for me, so this interview seemed a little awkward. Still enjoyed it though.
Here in the states, I used to work with a doctor who grew up in Liverpool. The Beatles played at their school prom. The doctor had a similar type of humor that he brought with him from England. He often joked with a straight face and I'm sure we often missed his jokes. But there were times when his humor almost "split my sides".
I grew up with the Beatles.. So Sad & So Sorry Linda left Paul/Fam, All of Us, way too Damn early.. Linda was Real.. Her dtr, Stella, looks so much like her beautiful Mom. Both Artist in there own right. c:
This amenable pleasant personality and down to earth attitude of Linda's is one you could live with all of your life. It takes a wise person to recognise that so early on in their life and not be swayed by the un-genuine.
This was more than enough for me to loose all respect to Oprah, her being intrusive as hell was very annoying. Even Linda looks uncomfortable but she tried to handle her. Such a shame.
RIP Linda McCartney. You and Paul's marriage was the best. I love WINGS!!!! You were a great part of that group. My thinking is that you are taking beautiful photos in Heaven. If you can take one of my Dad for me. We lost him just over 6 weeks ago. From a Canadian fan. 😎🇨🇦🙏🌹😇
I believe it was because she lived for so many years in the UK and was married to a Briton. Even before she married Paul, she had a rather soft voice with a lilt to it.
George married Patty a beautiful fashion model but what did that get him? Paul picked the right down to earth home girl in Linda. Such a shame Linda's life was cut short. They were as good as it gets.
The question is, What did Pattie get from being married to George? George was often a miserable sod, he was a womanizer who even had an affair with Ringo's then-wife, Maureen. Despite his image as the 'quiet' and spiritual Beatle, George's reputation reveals a darker side (his own production company was called Dark Horse). As for Susie Parker's comment below, Eric and George were pals prior to Pattie's involvement with EC. Remember that Eric played on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and George (as Angelo Mysterioso) co-wrote and played alongside Eric on Cream's 'Badge'.
@@wayneblanchard97 your right..I love all the Beatles but recently I have been watching all their interviews and George always seems miserable..Paul is a true gentlemen..he took a lot shit from George but Paul never downed his band mates!
This was 35 yrs ago. How perfect were you in the early years of YOUR career? Give her a bit of a break. Look at all the good she has done for people over the last 35 yrs. Even if you don't like her as an interviewer, her $$$ has helped a lot of people. You must at least admit that she's quite a generous person.
wow the way Oprah grabbed her hand like that to look at the ring !! could it be that Oprah is somehwat jealous because it appears that Linda has grabbed herself a rich rockstar without having to "work" for it like Oprah has ..? I think Linda comes across as the most honest down to earth person and was obviously Pauls real soul mate and kept him and the family grounded and together. This interview was quite embrassing on behalf of Oprah as it felt more like an inquistion than interview
I wonder if Oprah would appreciate these these types of questions now in her own life. Money questions and oh Paul questions. " Do you have friends over for dinner?" Very boorish.
Oprah is just awful here. i couldn't imagine a worse interview. She became one of the phony people Linda describes. She clearly already had it in her here.
She's so natural without airs and graces, unlike other wives and ex wives of rock stars, as she's wasn't a model or actress, the usual choice for a wife. (Also both Paul and Linda have always been coy about money 💰💸. He's a billionaire.1. Oprah was right to reject Linda's claim - good journalism.)
Linda seems to have been such a passionate person with so many interests, I think it's a bit silly how many interviews are centered around Paul and her relationship to him. It doesn't seem like either of them were too big on that and just saw themselves as ordinary people.
Funny how her accent didnt completely change after all those years, but madonnas did almost immediately when she moved there. Interesting....one genuine woman, one phoney.
