On this clip, there is Don Lemon. I TOTALLY forgot he was a newscaster on Channel 5 in Chicago during that time. I LIVE in Chicago!! Outside of seeing Paul on Ellen, that little clip 15 years later is freaking me out..lol. Thanks to the Paul fan in Chicago or whatever surrounding suburb for posting this. Yeah..yeah..yeah. Peace
Jeff ~ There’s a really good book about the Beatles Called the memoirs of Billy Shears, is a really great insiders view of the best Band in the world. . & a True look at British Youth culture and history. X X X *
That quote made my arm hair stand up. So true. I'm 50 & have bled Beatles since I was 13. I live on Long Island, NY & back in 2006, my wife & I went to the Hamptons with some friends for a long weekend. We went to eat at a fancy restaurant & he was there with some people having dinner. Took a deep breath, went to the table, excused myself & said "Paul thanks for everything". He said "You're welcome young man." Shook his hand & left. After dinner I went to my car & cried. I have no shame in that.
@@russlupky3505 big deal - the guy told a cool story about McCartney & you start calming him names? Didn't read that he even asked for his autograph. You need to grow up Russ.
She's a big McCartney fan. In about 1995 she was on the same show as a TLC performance of "Waterfalls" ("Don't go chasing waterfalls...") so she pointedly sang a bit of McCartney's "Waterfalls" from 1980 ("Don't go chasing waterfalls...").
Small price when you're famous I think. It happens with other famous people. And they just seem didn't mind with repeated question. Quite enjoying to answer maybe, since usually they genuinely love to tell their stories and inspire more people
the worst part about it, is everyone only asks him about things that happened to him during the Beatles, which only lasted eight years, and nobody even cares or thinks about asking him about anything else he's accomplished in his career since 1969.
He was there in New York marching with the peace movement in 2018 Paul was there protesting. Thank God for people like him in this world. Where would we be without the love you make being equal to the love you take.
It's so funny the way she says "you're so talented". Talk about understatement of the century. I know what she means though. He's multitalented. He's simply amazing.
From LA you twit of course they sang about LOVE "All you need is.LOVE LOVE is all you need" Lennon .McCartney. Good night America and. "Give Peace A Chance" John Lennon.
Kyle ~ Yeah, He is a Proper Legend. . Check out the Documentary Called “The winged Beatle” it’s one of the best films about The Beatles to date and a must see for anyone that is a true fan x x x *
I think It's going to be awful when only one Beatle is still alive. And I think it's going to be an even worse feeling for the remaining one. The feeling that your past bandmates died and you're the only one left must be a dreadful feeling.
what if paul is immortal? i mean everytime a paul dies they replace him with a new one without us knowing, that would be a great idea hahahaha and he ends up out living all of us (joke)
He seemed tired and kind of sad in this interview-and I figure it had to do with the turmoil in his private life at the time. His marriage to HM had only months to go. Thank God he emerged and found love again.
Love him. Wish he was only 64 now. Want him to go on forever… And also wish I’d seen him in concert before now. Sir Paul. Legend. Class act. And always…and forever..the cute one. ❤
People keep saying this is a terrible interview but the thing is, it's not an interview. Ellen is a talk show host, she has guest's on her show that she chats with about usually, their most recent or huge events in their life. Not specifically asking questions. She also talks about things she thinks her audience would enjoy. As if you wouldn't want to talk about The Beatles if you got the chance to meet Paul McCartney. Just saying..
Texting I bet? ..... wondering why that couldn't bet edited out. I guess there could be something to be said for remembering a tragedy in the middle of a PM interview on Ellen? Hell ... why not?
IMAGINE having SIR Paul McCartney sat in front of you and you ask him something as monotonous as 'How did you meet John?' Like he hadn't answered that millions of times.
I saw the Beatles at Shea Stadium August 1965 flash camera's going off all over the stadium, people screaming could hardly hear the Beatles. Got to see Paul again at the Meadowlands in 93, again at Citifield 2009. AND I had dinner with Pete Best 2009.
people who say they saw The Beatles live keep saying you could never hear anything and you said you could HARDLY hear them in other words you must of heard something so what did you hear??
All I heard was constant load screaming through out the stadium, very little silence. Our seats were field level center right behind third base. It was overwhelming to say the least. I heard years later The Beatles were plugged into the stadiums PA system. I also heard the Beatles themselves could hardly hear one another talking/speaking while playing. I was happy to be there!
I wonder if people realize that line is from "Martha My Dear"? When you find yourself in the thick of it, Help yourself to a bit of what is all around you. Silly girl....
"how did you meet john?" "Did you and John start writing right away?" Seriously Ellen?? This information is so old and has been asked so many times and is all over the internet. What a 'lazy' interview. It's Paul McCartney and you just ask about John. Don't get me wrong, I adore John. But he's been his own musician outside the Beatles for decades. How bout a question we haven't hear 1000 times
I am grown up, and playin guitar for 40 years, Ellen should stick to light fare like Tom Cruise and Beiber, not the beatles!!!! Not sure what kind of "Pet" she is....maybe an ocelot?
right, actually I musta been thinkin 'bout rosie odonnell and cruise!!!!!!!! I see beiber becoming a spice girl at some point....or one of the "mob- wives" boy- bitches!
Ellen looks slightly nervous talking to Sir Paul. He's only 1/4 of The Beatles. And he always seems so comfortable and so nice. Is there anything he can't do?
Heather was lying Paul ! She was lying ! Her sister liked the beatles so surely she would have heard her playing the records in the house ! I don't buy it at all ! She just wanted to make paul think she wanted him for himself and not because he was a beatle
Poppins123 Heather latched on to Paul like a Yoko to John. In it for the fame and money..when they divorced she wanted more than she got. And blew through it quiet quickly
I can hear my 16 year old humming "Eleanor Rigby" as I write this, I just saw a quote, "Sooner or later everyone loves the Beatles", I find it true. Music is a timeless way to connect, It can carry you thru life, I loved Strawberry Fields at 8, and at 18 I was crazy about paperback writer, now, 30 years later I think Blackbird is brilliant. wondering what my life with the Beatles will be in my 50's and beyond.
Great comment about Ringo Starr and absolutely true. I get angry when people put Ringo down like calling him "the untalented Beatle." That is so untrue. Drumming has been a hobby of mine since the mid 70s and Ringo's drumming style is very unique and difficult to emulate. Ringo is also a talented piano player.
How did you meet John? Seriously?? Paul has told that story more times than he's sung Get Back. Every time someone interviews Paul, it's how did you meet John. Nobody can think of an original question. Personally, I'd like to know how he progressed at learning piano and guitar as a youngster. Did he pick it up pretty fast or did he struggle a bit.
thanks love you I would be like what... I must have missed this show but yeah I am still a baby in your book but no your very cool my sister may have a difference of opinion but not going there. Take my heart and hold my hand. Foget about it He is a married man. I know I know just a whisper can I say I love you each and every day. So yeah my favorite somg my Michelle but alos too Love me do and yesterday and let it be. I get it people find chaos and hurt when they text and drive. I do this on my computer.
I bet Paul gets a kick out of blowing interviewers away with how personable he is. He knows about their show, he'll crack inside jokes with them; it's awesome.
Another Great Documentary About Paul McCartney & the Beatles is Called =“The Winged Beatle” it’s one of the best films about The Beatles to date & a must for everyone that is a true fan x x x *
He seemed a little off and more soft spoken in interviews he did during the years he was with HM. I’ve heard him tell the Get Back story several times and you can tell it quietly really pissed him off. And I think it was just the tip of the iceberg. I also think he had his hands more than full with her.
