they were not lovers, but they were great friends. neville was terrified when he walked on to that stage. he says he only calmed when his eyes locked on Linda's and he never let go. (Linda, in her turn, helped re-introduce Neville to the music audience with these duets and by inviting him and his brothers to open for her on tour.) They remain friends to this day.
One of the most beautiful duets. Both have fabulous voices. Also check out Linda's first big hit in 1967 "Different Drum" with The Stone Poneys. Other hits were "Hurt So Bad", "You're No Good", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado", Tracks Of My Tears" etc.
Mr. Neville has such a unique and beautiful voice, and of course Ms. Ronstadt has been beyond special forever. I'm so glad to hear them together. Another song by Aaron Neville I like real well is "Bird On A Wire".

As a native New Orleanian I'm blessed to have grown up with Aaron and The Neville Brothers. The mix of Aaron's vibrato and Linda's falsetto makes this song pure perfection. Beautiful, I remember watching this live on TV. Their voices are magnificent. Just love this song. It says live in the 90s. For some reason I thought it was further back in time.
