In a world with Karen Carpenter, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Victoria de Los Angeles etc. etc., that’s a pretty broad statement. I’d say ONE of the most beautiful. I love Linda, though she sometimes has a tendency to push her voice too far, and to me she sounds her best when the songs call for high drama, namely her ranchero/mariachi albums dedicated to her father. I think that phase of her career will be the most memorable in retrospect.
@@frankiebowie6174 No one comes close to Linda. I love all those female artists you mentioned especially Karen Carpenter, but none of them has Linda's range. She could sing just about anything.
I'm so glad for Linda Ronstadt's long career, she deserves every happy moment, such an awesome talent. It's gonna hurt so bad when we have to let her go, and I dread that day so much. I grew up hearing her music and then she recorded the musica Ranchera classics from Mexico, it was amazing. Here's one track ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g95cHSQ8qUI.html , Still, I'm so glad she wasn't a tragic loss like so many greats have been. I'm glad she's been honored already so many times as well. I wish for her so many more years to come.
Linda R - peaked in the late 1970s with several great covers of "Love is a Rose" and "Tumblin' Dice" and "Silver threads and Golden Needles". For some reason all the Reactors all picking Blue Bayou. Don't be a square Quay! LR used to ROCK! - Tumblin Dice: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31MGLzUBBL4.html
Linda is one of my favorite artists and you can't go wrong reaction g to any of her songs. You should also check out the original version, released in 1963, by Roy Orbison. His is a great version also.
