Lindos is an archaeological site, a fishing village and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. It lies on the east coast of the island. It is about 40 km south of the city of Rhodes and its fine beaches make it a popular tourist and holiday destination. Lindos is situated in a large bay and faces the fishing village and small resort of Charaki.
The Acropolis of Lindos is an ancient archaeological site located in the village of Lindos on Rhodes Island, Greece. It is known for its rich history, dating back to the 10th century BC, and its stunning views of the surrounding coastline. The site features a mix of ancient ruins, including the Temple of Athena Lindia, a Hellenistic stoa, and a Byzantine church, as well as remnants of the Knights' period fortifications.
The beach of Lindos is situated just below the village, approx. 10 min walking distance from the main village square. Access to the smallest beach called “Pallas” (or Mikros Yialos) is only on foot while the main Lindos beach (Megalos Yialos) is also reachable with a vehicle.
Well organized, this nice sandy bay offers to the swimmers a wide range of swimming and sunbathing facilities, which makes it very popular. A large number of travelers arrive to the beach every day by all means of transportation: by public buses and excursion coaches, excursion boats, and by private means.
