Lindsay and Carl: Communication Breakdown (Summer House Full Recap)

What's Up Bros?! It is D.C. week as we gear up for our live show Friday but we still have to get our episodes out so that youse have all the content you need for the week! In this episode of Summer House, Carl and Lindsay still can't get on the same page. Even after a seemingly 'breakthrough' conversation as Lindsay describes it, Carl walks away from that convo with a much different outlook. Carl confides in Kyle the next morning and its not the best look immediately following a somewhat constructive conversation with Lindsay. West and Ciara are still uncertain on where they stand and Steel has a theory.. Danielle presses Gabby to get involved in the Joey Balloons game and the mounted pressure from the house on Gabby gets to be too much. She gets really upset as a result of Danielle and instead of apologizing, Danielle doubles down and then insults Amanda by walking away from her. As a result, Amanda questions if people take her seriously. Paige and Ciara have a tough but honest convo with her regarding her potential and it was a very uplifting scene. The episode ends with Carl confiding in Sharon and Lou, his mom and Step-Dad and Lou gives Carl some tough love in regards to his future nuptials....

Oh, and let's not forget that Gabby's boyfriend of 5 years cheated on Gabby with Danielle. Puts an extra funk on Danielle's competing with Gabby.

Carl/Lindsay=not a match. They fell in love with the idea of marrying your best friend, but that is a Lifetime movie as Paige stated a few episodes ago. Lindsay admitted she has a high tolerance for drama and toxicity. So in her mind, even though she accused Carol of a relapse twice, sex was a 2.5 and she didn't think he was crushing life, she was going to get married. Carl was still figuring out who he is in sobriety. He needed a lot of support figuring out what his next steps where professionally, Lindsay lost her patience as she was ready to get pregnant the day after the wedding. Carl needed more time and she was running out of patience. I understand he lack of decision making was turning her off but it makes more sense now why she was pushing him to figure something out. Neither of them are to blame for the end of the relationship. They had no business trying to get married in the first place.

The Balloon guy is NOT hot. Once he arrived at the party in his "street" clothes, it was over for me. He progressively kept losing points the more he spoke. Not judging Danielle, but she was way too good for him

I think Danielle is degrading herself and she’s not being a friend, not a girls girl at all. Everything she says is crap, it’s hard to watch. I’m thinking it’s time for her to take a big break/ step back. Before she totally loses it. I’m mean how desperate is she? It’s so sad. Wish someone could help her 💔

I feel like Carl & Lindsay expected each other to be completely different people in the relationship than the people they've always shown themselves to be. Lindsay has always been loud, opinionated, & when driving, always prone to be argumentative. Her fighting style with her partners has been the same since season 1. At the same time, lCarl has never had the drive, ambition, or motivation that Lindsay is expecting of him now. Neither of them has ever really taken accountability for how their words/actions/decisions affect others. Carl is sober & maybe less volatile than previous seasons but nothin else has really changed. I was amazed at how well Lindsay handled herself in the conversation where call told her what was really said in the convo with his mom & Lou & Carl still suggested she was spiraling. We've all seen many a Lindsay spiral & that was not it. Her asking him what he was on earlier in the season was unacceptable but him talking honestly with everyone but Lindsay about his feelings is unacceptable also. In the end, he did them a favor, but I am starting to see how she felt blindsided by him Calling it off.

I agree with most of this, I won’t go with blindside but she didn’t expect him to actually call off the wedding since most people are too embarrassed to call off a wedding so close to the date.

Carl seems to semi playing for the camera. The parent covo was super revealing, like a set up to make himself look like the victim (when they called lindsay abusive). I do think Lindsays aggressive but i don’t think carl is innocent. Carl covering his mouth when the parents seem to be repeating talking points he mentioned earlier in the season about their relationship…. Again, i don’t think they should be together but carl seems to be playing things up instead of just ending it

I agree! Honestly brav bros keeps saying we are not taking sides but they are taking his side because they know him I think. So Its not in the middle but mostly 70% they are supporting Carl which its okay if they are truthful about it.

Was I the only one who thought Lover Boy was both their companies? I believe this is the first season where it was explicitly clarified it was Kyle’s only, and Amanda was only the creative director. I just assumed she was also cofounder.

Lindsey should’ve never said yes to a man that she doesn’t like… I can’t say yes to somebody and then ask them to change everything about themselves, so does Carl have some negatives in the situation? Yes, but it all boils down to you should’ve never said yes. his drive is his drive. His sex is his sex. His communication is his communication. Don’t say yes.

People are so flip flop now people are back to loving Lindsay. Her fans stay defending Lindsay lol. How is Carl talking to his parents on camera manipulative but Lindsay talking about their sex life and using his past against him to gas light and win arguments not manipulative her fans will find any reason to defend her and hate Carl. Carl is not perfect or an angel but at least he takes accountability and apologizes when his wrong or even when his not wrong, but Lindsay takes no accountability never apologizes when she's wrong. Lindsay is still taking digs at Carl in interviews or after shows and blaming him for the relationship ending when it was clearly BOTH of them. Carls parents did nothing wrong if I was a Carl's parents I would tell him not to marry Lindsay either. Who wants to marry someone where you have to walk on eggshells and try not to piss them off because they act like a defensive nut when mad or drunk. If Carl would have married Lindsay they would be divorced right now, and Carl might have relapsed because being with Lindsay would cause anyone to drink, she's seems like a lot to deal with.

I think Carl will be demoted and come part-time as a friend of Kyle. I think Lindsay will stay full time because she's more confrontational and will create more drama and reality TV.
