In this special Line 18 report, Sky News speaks to the gangs using children to traffic drugs into rural areas, drug mules and the police who are trying to tackle the issue.
Gang member Bruce says he 'trains up' recruits from the ages of 12 to 16-years-old and pays them £300 a week.
He brandishes a knife, which he says he will give to the children when they are sent out.
Jason Farrell also speaks to drug mule Sarah, who was stabbed by a gang member after the money she had made was stolen.
Sky has learned that thanks to a push by the National Crime Agency, 500 county lines arrests were made in the last two weeks.
