Thanks gearmandude!!! I don't knw how some ppl don't like this pedals, it has alot of gain effects in one! I'm sold... I've been looking for something like this for a while now! I've had tons of drives and dist as well but I need one like this!!
I have one of these DM4 and I rarely use it, but it is a great tool to have if there is a distortion sound you need but don't have a pedal for. I have all in the series (DL4, FM4, and MM4) and all are nice pedals -- you get a lot of sounds for $250. The only one that has a volume drop problem is the MM4 (which is sad because it has some great sounds). The DM4 (distortion) is the easiest to work with of all of them. You could set up vol boost with it too. And Les Claypool uses it with bass.
@SIXXX1POUNDER well my main reasons are ease of use that the M13 has with all its combinations and scenes. Plus 1 of the effects that I realy love, Verbzilla Octo dosent come on the PODxt or any of its add ons, or none that I saw anyway. I like the ability of using the M13 in either the front or threw the FX loop. I like to run wah and dist threw the front and have the M13 in effects for all the atmospheric and time effects. Merry Christmas
Nice Vid Gearmanndude. Me personally am saving for a Line6 M13 which gives you all the Line6 stomp boxes in 1 unit. So for $500 you get @$10K worth of stomp effects without the hastle of actually having that many boxes to deal with. And Ive never understood why all the hate for Line6. U2's The Edge uses many Line6 effects in his monster effects rack. He can afford anything he wants to use, so if its good enough for him, then I guess its gonna be okay for me. Merry Christmas all!!
@Kerpunk909 You're definitely right, but if the guitarist is too bugged by the digital tones, then his/her playing won't be as good, which could be noticeable by a crowd. Personally, I don't care what technology is driving my equipment, as long as the sounds are inspiring to me.
@bresan79 Totally agree! This has always been my argument with all of these multi effect units. They suck you in with the promise of 3 billion effects all in one compact unit..but everybody uses 4 of them! I bought the Line 6 M9, it's great for a practice unit or using it as a delay unit, otherwise straight up boxes are the ticket.
I've seen bands in Branson Mo plugging those floormount processors into the PA. They get a useable sound out of them but they're using tons of distortion. There's no organic Plexi or Bassman sounds.
@tempo1889 I would imagine he sells the ones he doesn't like, there are always hints that he sells them, also in the gearmanndude's lair video there aren't enough pedals to represent what he has shown.
if you look for Blondegrahamey (not sure on the spelling) he's done that.. Have to admit i think this pedal is better than the Digitech Distortion factory
@JeezoozeChrysler A classic example of one's prejudice influencing their perception. If you closed your eyes and had a blind listening test of the DM-4 going up against a host of the pedals it models, I'd be willing to bet you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Hey take 2 the boost/comp was not demoed as you set it and then turned on the switch that kick on a preset not the comp as comp is a clean setting so go back and do it again and if you would show how the nob settings work thanks.
@jchay55 From your reply I understand that every Line6 product is digital. Now I see why it can be funny if you are very familiar with Line6 and somebody ask you the analog question.......a low treshold for humor.
