Ugh why is this so difficult for me? I thought I had it figured out because sound was working (from a Fryette LXII) but then I realized it was just using my power cab plus power. Ugh. I’m trying to do that 4 cable method thing, but in the back of the Fryette there’s only like 5 - 7 input jacks. No XLR or any bells and whistles so I don’t even know how it would power the helix or speakers or whatever
will this be applied also if my amp head is connected to a DI box such as Behringer ultra DI?,... In my city the standard procedure for guitar mixing in a music show is connecting an amp through a reasonably priced DI such as a Behringer ultra DI to the mixer / foh and sometimes the sound guy reluctant to change those settings even if it is as simple as plugging the 1/4" jack from the DI then plug it into Helix (or any other amp modeler / preamp),... any help is appreciated,....

@@epicawesomeness1 Heya Riley! So if you didn't have an frfr speaker to use witht he helix and wanted to use the helix's amp tones youd do it this way? And then not use the speaker models in the helix if wanted to use the sound of the speaker you have, is that right??
@@villidid Yes, you would be playing helix tones through the amps speakers so you don't need a speaker block in helix. I'd do this live if I didn't have an frfr. Although you will have to eq it differently, and not use the helix line outs to FOH.
@@villidid If you use this method you will have to eq the preset differently to what you have for say headphones or an frfr. You cannot use the xlr outs on helix with this method because there will be no cab block. It would sound terrible.
You tell us to set the quarter inch outputs to line and then you turn right around and tell us to set them to Mike. So which one do we use line or mike?
My amp does not say power amp in, but the volume is controlled by the helix floor. I'm using a Panama Shamen II and the volume is kinda jacked and randomly spiked up. Any ideas? All settings are as presented in this video.
Just got back from rehearsal and my band mates were complaining about a low rumble sound through my headrush powered speakers, any idea what I can do to resolve this? i'm using a Line 6 Helix
This doesn’t work for me with my amp. I’m using a blackstar HT20 studio head that has the effects loop on the back. Tried both instrument and line level on 1/4” output. But not getting any signal through the speaker cab. Anyone have any suggestion?
fallquist Hey I had the same problem....try inserting a spare jack lead or patch cable into the guitar input jack on the front of the BlackStar and you should find this will sort the problem 👍
Music And Tech Yeah you can either go straight into the front of the amp like you would a normal overdrive pedal but in that instance you wouldn’t want to use any amp or cab modeling blocks, if you want to amp model then plug the helix into the FX return of the amp 👍
Crazy, it also doesn't work for me on my Blackstar. It's working with the 4 cable method, but it's not if I plug my Helix direct in the return of the amp like in the video... Maybe it's a Blackstar thing... Let me know if you have found what is the the problem, thanks 👍
