Oh how wonderful, thank you, Gary! Many of my paintings have balloons in them, although I never plan any of them beforehand, so this is new. Thank you. Enjoying the bird song as well!
I’m always impressed by how much emotion your simple paintings evoke in me! Also, I appreciate being able to see your palette and the paint colors and consistencies as you narrate.
Love your paintings! They're always so charming, and I learn more about watercolor each time I watch one of your videos. I wonder if you inked the balloon while the sticker was still on the page if it might have been easier.
Great, thanks Gary. I kept waiting for you to finish the left side of the roof. Why did you decide to leave that area blank (other than your right to creative license, of course, haha)? Thanks !!
Oh I see.... on the left of the house is an addition to the house. We're looking at the roof straight on. Got confused about the angle, so no worries.... Thanks again Gary, so fun!
Love your simplistic style and you've encuraged me to start watercolor painting, thanks! Why does the final shots of the finished painting always look a little deeper colored? Is it lighting? Cheers!
Did you say you're using a "mailing sticker"? I googled that and only found stamps. What kind of sticker is it? I've never seen anyone use stickers to mask. Does it leave residue? Where did you get yours? Great tutorial btw. Love how you mix clean graphic coloring with more the more rough, granulating sky. Also love your color choices. Thanks always for taking the time to film and upload these for free. So lucky to be an artist during this time in human history
Thanks for the nice feedback. The sticker is from a custom roll I had made for when I mail out a painting. First time I tried something like that. Its like a vinyl so there was no residue.
I'm not an expert but you get what you pay for. Cheap brushes don't hold much paint and they lose their shape really quickly. I think my brushes are somewhere in the mid range.
