it definitely added some nice tightness and clarity. The main weakpoint of the POD is the speaker sims, with modern IR's, it really doesn't sound half bad, but the speaker modeling always sounds pretty dark and lofi by modern standards, probably why you wanted to crank the brightness ;)
That is true, the first thing i wanted to do is crank the brightness! When I first was recording with this POD standard tuning was hugely common in my studio, so I didn't recognize the darkness as much... Now I love down tuning... Well... Changes were needed to be made ;)
There is a difference between using gear how they were designed to be used, and using gear to best of what you can get out of them. Experimenting and seeing what works best for you personally is always the best approach. I haven't used the Argos yet... I may have to see if I can find one cheap.
@@thefriedpiper does is add bite to your bass? or does it get a bit muffled? For guitar it can do wonders! Specially for someone like myself who loves the djent tone.
@@metalprognosis yea it definitely helps me get closer to tones in happy with on some plugins. If you haven't tried biasfx2, I highly recommend it for metal.... Any tones. Best metal guitar tones I get, for my preferences. It does say a bit of bite to bass but you lose some of the dynamics. I just tried the darkglass suite and with my dingwall it's my favorite bass tone, more so than parallax. Again, my preferences... Worth trying when it's free to try.
