I've had those exact Diamalloy pliers, for many many years, and they are superb, I've also just ordered those double dipped Kleins, as I wanted a larger pair which are "bombproof",, great video,,, all the best from across the pond,, 👍👍

Indeed, options are good. I mostly use Kleins 9 inch combination pliers. But sometimes a 10 inch linemans hammer comes in handy.

For sure. I’ve really been liking the tiny ones lately too.

I switched to the Klein J2000 9NE about a year and a half ago. The Journeyman series. They have the extra hardened jaws too. I am just amazed at how comfortable, capable and effortless they are

My favorite color handle is red, and it’s nice to get Klein in red as well. I even have some Kleins that glow in the dark. lol You know, because I twist wire in the dark all the time. lol

The Engineer pliers are good. I think they would be considered a Combo plier. I have those Cannellock 3505’s as well. I like the spring function but I’m right handed and wish the bent handle was on the opposite handle to place the cutter closer to me. Since the bent handle faces down in use generally, I have to use them in my left hand to have the cutter closest to my body.

I agree with you about those channellock ones. I wish the cutter was on the other side too. And I’ve been eying the glow in the dark Kleins forever. Those are so cool!

I've got the 213. My favorites. Everyone likes the 2000 series and I probably would if I had a set.

I like the 8 inch size too for a lot of stuff. Adjustable wrenches, channel locks, slip joints, needle nose, cutters…. All great in the 8 inch size.

Looking forward to this video. Not being an electrician i am only interested in slip joint, long nose and dykes. Will see if I will add another plier type to my collection. I keep a 6" slip joint on me everywhere I go bc it does everything I need and they are super cheap.
@realworldtoolreviews
@realworldtoolreviews 2 года назад
I love slip joints too. I’ll be making a video on those one of these days for sure. Even if your not an electrician, I would highly recommend getting some lineman’s pliers. They are great for all kinds of work.

When is 8 inch vs 9 inch klein lineman’s pliers better? For a homeowner who is doing basic electric work (fixing outlets and lights) and landscape lighting? Thanks!
@lilcourtny08

8 inch pliers would work for a homeowner, you would need the 9 inch pliers for commercial or industrial work.

Klein and Channellock have even smaller 7 inch lineman’s pliers. I’m considering them for work on garden fencing (hoping it’s tough enough to cut 12-14 ga steel). I also noticed Channellock claims to have a rust-resistant electric coating. Do you have any experience with that?
@realworldtoolreviews
@realworldtoolreviews Год назад
I don’t know about the coating. I know the channellock rebar pliers from this video haven’t gotten rusty yet, but I don’t know if they have the coating you are referring to or not. If you are going to be working with steel wire, I would recommend those rebar pliers. They work great for stuff like that.

i’ve been on the hunt for 6” kleins for AGES. WHERE did you find them?! i’m a girl with small hands and 7” is still a little too big for me to use comfortably
@realworldtoolreviews
@realworldtoolreviews Год назад
I got really lucky with those. I found them in the bottom of a big bucket of junk tools at an estate sale. I guess they don’t make them anymore? I looked it up and couldn’t find them even on eBay. Your best bet might be to just keep checking eBay until they turn up. They are handy little pliers and they cut great. I hope you find a pair. Thanks for watching!

😂😂 where I’m from a lot of guys call them side cutters too which I always thought was weird. I tend to call them Kleins even if they aren’t actually Kleins.

Never saw a need for larger than 8” also dikes and end cutters are worthless compared to players that cut flush cutting flush is infinitely more useful and works well for pulling nails but will cut through the nail slightly more easily.

@@realworldtoolreviews ya I was watching while I wrote this. Spoke too soon. The smaller pliers you have are similar to combination pliers which I just purchased from knipex. I have the double dipped and the knipex with comfort grip and I like them, but I want something a little smaller for all day use. I didn't know about the Klein grips. I'm going to hit the swap meet next weekend and buy a few older USA !ade pliers and put those grips on them. There are hundreds of good pliers there but no grips. And you can get them for a few bucks. I'm surprised you're not much of a fan of the knipex but to each their own.
