The "tower of linens" phrase really hit home with me, while ago I asked my husband to organize our linen closet and he put all of our bath towels on the highest shelf where I cant reach! 😂 Hope to accomplish a redo organization soon so I can actually, you know, use things in that closet lol.

The linen closet turned out great! I have that weird space at the top in my closet as well. I hate looking at the tower of sheets there now. I think I’ll do something similar…because cute boxes motivate me too 😊

Sheets don't do well just on a shelf, in my opinion. They need to be contained or on a bed! I suppose if I was a better folder I might feel differently??

Good work. I love that you hid your unmatched towels. So funny the little things that drive us crazy. Growing up mom always put the beach/ dog towels somewhere separate from rest.

Great video and so motivating! I’ve started deep cleaning and purging my house today-we’re adopting a newborn baby due in March (our fourth child) and I’m feeling the nesting vibes. Oh! And I bought those soft, zipper containers for blankets and pillows you have linked!!

Our house was built in 2015 and there is not a single linen closet in its 2800 square feet so I have chests of drawers in the huge wide open, waste of space, entryway. Just like back in the day! This was not my house of choice but we needed something quickly and my husband could not be steered in a different direction six years ago. 🙂

It looks great and I love the Charisma bath sheets also! I adopted the want vs need as a new year's resolution in 2019. I use in most areas of my life, shopping cleaning, etc. In the past three years, I can't believe how much money I've saved and less clutter I have.

Definitely agree that traditional donation places don’t want everything! Before throwing away things don’t forget to think of alternate donation places! Sheets with holes in them? Call a local animal shelter or post of a buy nothing group. Sometimes people use as a drop cloth or similar.

When I was going through the clothing of a deceased family member, we were able to donate professional clothing to our local Dress for Success, normal clothes in good condition to Goodwill-esque places, and clothes that were unwearable but in good condition (stained but clean, thin in places, etc.) to our local animal shelter to use for bedding for the animals! It took some legwork to figure it all out the first time but was SO worth it to drastically reduce our trash.

It's my understanding that a lot of clothing donation places recycle the stuff that's not usable.

Yeah, I still don't know how to fold a fitted sheet so having the sets in boxes? Brings me a great deal of joy!

This may sound like the silliest thing to focus on but seeing the lint roller hanging from the wall has given me some great ideas as to how to use up wall space in my much too small linen closet.

Love this! We’re transitioning all of our towels to all white basic towels as well. We had so many styles, and it didn’t make sense. So much easier to have the same throughout.

I just switched us to those Charisma bath sheets and we love them! Tackling our linen closet is on my January to-do list...so I'll be setting that one-hour timer soon!

This has given me some great ideas to help sort out my issue, which is that I moved from an apt that had a linen closet to one that doesn't. However, there is extra space in my main bedroom closet that I will now earmark for the towels and sheets in some nice bins and bags (sorry toilet paper, it's the garage for you!) on the higher shelves because, like your linen closet, the ceiling in my bedroom closet has ceilings of unusual height and I might as well use that space for something.

One thing I had to learn through trial and error is that an organized space won’t always stay perfectly organized but if the systems in place are the right ones it will be easy to put it back together so fairly quickly. Now my spaces stay in better shape, just less Pinterest-worthy!

Jen, I need ideas for tool storage. My linen closet, pantry, wardrobe….all that is as organized as it can be for now. It’s not great about I’m not mad at it. The tool section in the house is just 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. My dad has great organization but he has an amazing tool collection and knows how to use them to build and fix things. My husband, well, I’m lucky he doesn’t have to go to the emergency room after hanging a picture. Most of his tools were my dad’s and are purchased for the current project but not for long term. The area of our garage where the scraps and extras live is an eye sore. I don’t need pretty, I just need organized, clean and not something that makes me super mad when I see it. How do you categorize items?

Love the idea of boxing up and labeling the extra sheet sets! I've been relying on my brain to remember which set goes on which bed... but I often have to unfold them to figure out what size they are... Then having to refold the stupid fitted sheet just puts me in a bad mood 😜

They go to the garage or to dry the dogs (so they'll be stored in the utility room). A

I have a two story home with full linen closets in each bathroom. The shelves are not wide but long. I keep the things for that bathroom in the closet. How would you recommend keeping the sheets for organized. The sheets stored in there are for each of the kids bedroom who use that bathroom

I'm still a fan of boxes but you'll need to measure - and look in the office supply section!! A lot of time there are great boxes there and it's not always the first place we think to look for linens storage!
