We went to the Beach! That's right, come to stay in the Heart of the Lake District and visit the beach, just 45 mins away. However we decided to stop into Lingholme Estate for a quick lunch and look round it's famous walled garden.
Lingholme Estate - absolutely incredible place. Definitely a place to visit. A lovely walk around the grounds with lake frontage and a walled garden. The cafe serves really delicious local food all day, and it's dog friendly. If you're lucky you might see the Alpacas, if they're not out walking (walking with Alpacas sounds a bit weird, but apparently it's really good, that's another video).
St Bees Beach - WOW, what a hidden treasure. Check the tides and get there for Low water to find a massive hard sand beach stretching for miles with rock pools and vies over to St Bees Head. A great place for a dog walk and to build sand castles.
