This is going to be a turning point for Josh, Mythical Kitchen, and the handoff that Rhett said he eventually wanted. Getting bigger names like Tom Hanks & Margaret Cho is the sign for other big celebrities to want to join in, and turn Last Meals into the next Hot Ones. We all already know Josh is capable of that depth. And the topic/format of Last Meals is just set up to be that much deeper than Hot Ones. This is why I forced my grandpa to write down my favorite of his recipes a few years ago, so they wouldn’t die with him. He passed in September and I’m so glad I did. I haven’t tried to make any. I can’t cook or bake, but the possibility exists to try now. Though I missed some. Bless grandma’s heart, she tried to recreate some Christmas cookies of his. They were hard as rocks, but I ate some anyway.

I really enjoyed this. I find myself connecting with Rhett more, especially in the way he thinks so deeply and methodically about life and existence. Rhett’s last meal was full of a lot more deep thought and Link was just here to eat food from Josh he actually likes. But it makes me appreciate not only Link as an individual but everyone else that doesn’t think in the same pattern as I do. We all analyze life differently and that’s important to how we grow as a species.

It brought tears to my eyes when Link talked about his nanny’s fried chicken and how he can never taste it again because it made me think of my grandma’s rice and her chuchitos which are like little tamales we make in Guatemala and how I will never taste that food again because it went with her. I wish I could’ve asked her or seen her make them so that I had an idea but now it is just a memory of some of the best I had or will ever have. Thank you link because although it hurt to realize this it also takes me back to the joy of that day when we ate with my grandma and how we all wanted more but there weren’t any left, just a smile on her face.

And you lift tons of serious depression, you guys are a serious safe-space. I was kind of hoping for "You know what time it iiiiiisssss...." as Link's last words. 😄

I feel fulfilled and motivated after watching this video. Sometimes this is what we need. Other times, we need the "silly as hell"/escapist content. As long as you are able to love what you do, we'll also enjoy it. It is sometimes the spectators' responsibility to be honest with themselves and ensure that the content they are clicking on is what they want to see (and kind enough not to hate on the content that is just simply not for them)

My mom hates spaghetti. I always thought it was weird cause she's a Sicilian-American. But finally getting her to talk somewhat, I found that it was because she adored her dad. She was his favorite. When he came over from Sicily, he brought his family recipe for spaghetti sauce. He would take all day to make it & jar it. The kids would come into the kitchen & dip Italian bread into the pot of simmering sauce & he would get so mad about the crumbs that eventually he designated a small pot to simmer just for dipping. Had sausage, meatballs, all sorts of veggies, i hear it was amazing. Never passed the recipe to anyone. Mom researched all her life but never did she ever find a spaghetti sauce good enough to rival the memory of her daddy's spaghetti sauce. That's why she never liked spaghetti. The memory of Daddy's sauce.
