After eight years of covers, I'm ready to say that this one has been my favorite. Only a couple of others even come close: - BotW main theme - One-Winged Angel - Lower Brinstar - A few undertale ones
You had me when you started with Sword Search, a fantastic piece of the game that Nintendo's sadly forgotten. Then the greatness just kept coming, and my senses are delighted. Discovered your channel yesterday and have been having a blast since, man! Playing it at the office, as I draw...Keep up the great work! There's but one way to describe this tribute to Link's Awakening..."Dreamy".
I really love Sword Search! Thanks so much for enjoying this man, I encourage you to check out my various playlists of music and listen to a collection of my stuff through that method.
I can't wait for this game to come out again on the Switch!!!! Hearing this gets me extra hyped! It's my very first and one of my favorite Zelda games.
You just made my favorite GBC game even better. The changes are very large, but it's easy to tell what each song is. That's what cover musicians should do best.
thank you MC for turning me onto the most amazing jazz musician i have ever heard especially with the zelda aspect which is one of my favorite game series' of all time and please keep up the awesomeness and i did sub and like insaneintherainmusic for the sheer awesomeness P,S, sorry for the run-on but i just can't contain my love for your vids and insanes music if you can i would say a jazz arrangement of one of minecrafts songs for your intro would be killer and once again keep it up!! :D
I remember you mentioning that this would push the ten minute mark on Facebook, but I feel like you could have extended it forever and it still would have been beautiful. You're such an underrated musician.
@@insaneintherainmusic Hello sir ! Thank you for that awesome cover ! Where can I buy it ? I can't find it on Google Play or Amazon ! And I'll be glad to buy your "Yoshi's Island" cover too ! Thank you. ^^
I'm not gonna lie, I think this is your best medley/cover you've ever done, and that's not just because I love Link's Awakening. So glad I found your channel, keep on making amazing music!
Yes, Sword Search is such an underrated tune in this game, probably because you only hear it once at the very beginning of the game. Even I forgot about it until I was running back through the OST and realized how awesome it was!
links awakening is definitely my favorite too, the only game that takes me back to elementary school in the 90s. i played the crap out of that game during recess on my original gameboy, used to try and speed run/race a friend of mine who also had a copy, see how far we could get before the bell. i played it the other month for the first time in years and it was muscle memory, got ALL the secret seashells like i knew where they were hiding
This was easily your best cover to date. I loved the harmony split between the two tenor parts near the end and in the middle, it was fantastic. Never let this amazing gift go.
I played through let's say 70% of Link's Awakening this summer, a lot of it on mute due to context, but I played the first 3 parts of it for years as a kid so this OST means a lot to me. It's NOT Koji Kondo, which gives a breath of fresh air. You really went from there and molded your own, especially with some of the progressions to help transition. Great medley, as usual, if not your best to date.
I know them mute feels, I only get to play the portable Zelda games on the go which means I also have to play on mute because video game music seems to annoy non-gamers over the age of 30. You miss out on so much without the music.
A lot of work went into this one. I love the different interpretations the composers take on the pre-existing motif of the Overworld theme that Koji Kondo wrote, it's fascinating. The different composers break away from some of the normal Zelda stereotype, paralleling the game.
Link’s Awakening was the first video I ever played. My mom gave me her Gameboy Color with this game. I would stay up late with the lights on because the gameboy color didn’t have a back light. The memories and feelings I have with/because of that game are what keep me playing games to this day. Thanks so much for making this.
Such easy listening. Oh man sometimes I just put on a playlist of yours and let it play out. Nearing the ten minute mark is such an accomplishment! Congrats~
I never played Link's Awakening, but i still knew some of the songs, and they are pretty good. However, your take on them, the medley as a whole and especially the end are really top notch!
Insaneintherainmusic may be the best publisher I've stumbled across while wandering youtube. Classy jazz, and the music from all my favorite titles; it's a pretty potent combination you have there.
+sonicdoesfrontflips Now that's a compliment! It sure takes a lot to make me cry. (not that i'm a tough guy or anything all i do is make videos of game music on the internet and practice saxophone)
