For all the "critics" on here. This is about honoring Chester. Please keep that in mind before leaving negative comments about someone's singing abilities, especially live with little to no rehearsal.

Wow I’ve never seen this. Alanis Morissette was the voice of my generation along with Eddie Vedder, Dolores O'Riordan, Kurt Cobain and Greg graffin. This is great! She is such a badass

Remember this song was made by a great man .. And was for not only him but our fallen ... Let this song be a reminder of them for in the end ... It mattered most

Poor guys saying her voice doesn't match. This was perfect

Why are people complaining? It is Alanis Morissette, a very distinctive emotive singing style, and this sounds just like her. I thought this was great, minus the impossibility of hearing her whispers at the beginning. I blame that mostly on the the mixers at the event and not her. It's way harder live than a nice controlled studio

No Doubt invited Alanis to step in for Gwen, who pulled out last minute. That's why her stage presence seemed off, and she kept looking at a teleprompter. With little rehearsal time due to her upcoming performance, she did pretty well. That's not an easy thing to do, especially for a song like this. Plus, the mix seems to have toned down her voice.

Mike kept the long note in the end , so amazing

I was a fan of Alanis for her JLP album. Think this song is a perfect match for her. First time heard this song, have become addicted to it :)

There will never be another Chester, and it's unfair to judge Alanis against him as they are two entirely different artists. That said, It think she did him proud here.
