LP gets a lot of flak because their style has changed. I personally think Mike Shinoda worded it perfectly for them when he went on Fine Bros. Entertainment, and reacted to college kids reacting to LP, he said basically "When we make a song, it's either x many months before the trend and we've predicted what the future trend will be, or its x many months after the trend and people assume were just following the trend, either way people get upset that we're in the trend and not many realize producing the same style of music gets bland fast, changing is inevitable."
