For some reason, you have to either be really great or really bad to make it as a rapper...nothing for the ones that are good like Mike. Heard worse mainstream rappers, even before the mumble rap stuff, than Mike.
Actually Mike gets everything. He can rap, sing, play multiple instruments, produce, painting, art design, mix .... too many Mike and Chester are legends. #ripchester #missyoueveryday
Yes his name is Mike. He is the rapper of the group but one of the main ingredient to linkin park. He can do it all. Rap. Sing. Play any instrument. Over all talented and chesters best friend.
@@LFRFAMILY you should check out chesters interview where he addresses his depression and his mind is a bad place. Even though he is struggling he still encourages ppl to get help.. Even though he couldnt save himself, he saved millions. Id be happy to share the link
Mike Shinoda is the guy on piano. Great singer/rapper. But Chester is undeniably freakin best lol. His tones and and shifts from light to hard is amazing. Love love love his scream. You really need to watch all his video's, gives me goosebumps lol
Nice to see Linkin Park. This is one of my Son Favorite band growning up. You can hear this song blasting from his room. Fun times for me hanging out with my son listing to Linkin Park. Love the fact you are looking at other types of music. Thank you so much for the shout out about doing my request. You keep going. Love the energy, the fun you bring, the positivity. Big ups to the LFR FAMILY
Chester had an ability to have 2 voices in one! I can't remember what it's called but it's very rare....that's what made Chester amazing! (One of the things).
the man playing the piano is mike shinoda and i think that he and chester are like the two lead singers of the band, like chester is the powerfull screamer and mike is the one with the dark rhymes and those two singing together are just👌
You are in for a treat with Linkin Park. Chester had incredible range. And Mike often does a lot more than just play piano and rap at the same time. He does also sing, but I think the harmonies on this are both Mike and Chester singing, but with Chester’s voice louder. They used to do a lot of layering. You should totally check out their live performances. Also, you must hear my all-time favorite song, “Waiting for the End.”
Chester does sing multiple parts in the song over himself! I understood what you were trying to say, you can hear it pretty well In the acapella. I’d highly suggest you check out “Waiting For The End” when you get the chance. It’s probably my favourite song of theirs. I really like your input too! Cheers
Mike Shinoda is not just a rapper/singer/art designer/guitar/piano player, hes the lyricist of the band, Cherster Bennington also wrote lyrics but mainly from his old band Grey Daze n Dead by Sunrise.
One of the greatest voices not just in rock but history was lost when he passed away and besides that his and the band’s lyrics spoke real to people. I can’t think of one song of there’s that I couldn’t relate to. Chester was a voice for anxiety, depression and mental health in general and I and I’m quite certain that I’m not the one that felt like we was heard, we had a voice and it was beautiful.
My disabled son sent this to me. we just lost his grandfather who he was with. 3 times a week from 4 am until my father got out dyalis at around noon to make sure his grandpa was ok to drive home. My for the last 3 years has done this with me and My Father. This song he sent me is to let me known how he is feeling with his lose. And because he appericates your channel. Thank you and God Bless you young man💜🙏💜
This whole album helped me in high school because with me coming from a troubled family background and with me being goth, bisexual and racially ambiguous because of my genetic makeup I was always a target for bullying and abuse from my peers and society in general
Man, you need to react to Given Up. There's some notes in that one that will blow your mind. And yes, he's tracked over himself for the studio version as far as I know unless someone else knows something I don't.
Your reactions are absolutely delightful and it is because your absolute love for music just shines through, it’s awesome to see - such openness to new musical experiences (for many music is a very intimate thing) is quite rare. And - you seem honest through and through which is totally disarming. Keep it up! Greetings from the old continent, from a tiny European country that is known as the land that sings. Music is magic.
I know just a bit of time has passed lol, but when you were asking about the harmonizing background vocals-yes, that is Chester layered under himself several different ways. Mike would do them when they were performing. Their voices seamlessly blended together so smoothly when they performed which was so rare, even still is. Chester could change the melody and Mike would slide right in and match him. 😊
Mike Shinoda can sing pretty well, he used to do a lot of backup vocals for chester. Since their album Minutes to Midnight (2007) he also did lead vocals on some songs, for example on the song No Roads Left. He also started to release songs under his own name, where he sings/raps, plays the instruments and produces (so pretty much everything lol)
It's just different tracks of Chester singing and then it is layered which the result is hearing him sing two different lines at once. This is done in the studio. In the music video, they chose one line that fits best for the vid. Mike just does "fill in" type vocals in this song. He can sing too but Chester is the main singer and is lovingly referred as "The Scream Beast". He was amazing...RIP Chester.
I had the honor of watching them live as a teenager and they were just as amazing love as they were in studio. Chester will be forever loved and forever missed. We shall never see his like again. 💔
Yes the whole band does sing but in this song chester and mike double there vocals in this song just listen to acapella version ..trust n believe this guys are special and magical
I once heard a saying that resonated with me when you were talking about other's expectations. Either you go out and make your dreams come true. or Someone will employ you to make theirs come true
Thanks for honoring Chester like this. Met him once and all he wanted was to help people realize their worth through his music, but sadly he left this world when he needed help. One of his favorite songs was Papercut. Maybe one day you could react to this song. Also, when you said others expect more from us than for themselves, I subbed right away. Really liked that. Nothing but a fact.
The PERFECT song embodiment of crippling depression, especially from a personal standpoint. This year marked the first time that I EVER thought of committing suicide by slitting my wrists with a box cutter. I willed myself to NOT reach for that blade, though. That guilt is still in the back of my mind because I suffer so heavily from separation anxiety and fear of abandonment. I was going to inflict that same emotional suffering on my family. As depressed as I may get, I'll never act on it. I'm sorry for walking my loved ones through my emotional hellscape without warning or telling them that I was feeling this way. It was never my intention.
I would graciously ask that you listen to their full discography from Hybrid Theory and Meteora as well as New Divide, Qwerty and the live version of Chester singing Adele's Rolling in the Deep just with Mike on piano. AMAZING.
You have to react to Crawling(One More Light Live)-Linkin Park, it will give you goosebumps and you’ll never forgive yourself if you don’t watch and listen to that video! Mike just plays piano and Chester sings the most emotional version of Crawling in the crowd! One man saved millions but millions couldn’t save one man, RIP Chester! PLEASE!!!! Thank you🥰🙏
From +-5min in, 🥺😒 being always trapped with manipulating, controling people, call them Narcissists if you wish, this is easier said than done, unfortunately. This song has been my life story for 18yrs... beautiful ...resonating... either way
HYBRID THEORY!! THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS FREAKING AEWSOME!! HARD TO FIND AN ENTIRE ALBUM THAT EVERY SONG IS GOOD! BUT THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY IN MY TO 20! ZEPPELIN COMES FIRST!! YEAH!! ALL OF THEM!
Sending prayers to his family for the loss of such a talented young man gone to soon he had so much more to do . If anyone reading this is thinking of do the same please please don't everyone's life crossing over each other's without you a part of someone else's life is charged because you are gone. People care your life has so much value .
RIP Chester. Why is it the more advanced we believe ourselves to be becoming over the years, we have more health problems, Cancers, drug addictions, suicide rates, and sociopathic behavior skyrocketing? The only thing the human race is advancing in is technology and ways to kill ourselves. Most of the time those two things are the same thing. Were not moving forward as a society. Were slowly killing ourselves.
I'm not sure if it's been addressed yet, but with this song, the overlapping vocals at the end were all Chester. The way they performed it here though, is how they've played it live, with Mike singing the parts that he did. This was a common practice with much of their older material as well.
If you wanna hear more of Chester's anvelic voice then please react to the little things give you away live on milton keynes or LIVE EARTH. It sounds so different from any of their songs from the first two albums and also their longest song.
5:40 to 6:40 - you seem to be very connected with the song at that moment. It could be by empathy for others or by resonating on your own feelings. Loved your reaction. To you and everyone else, take care of yourselves!
To answer the question you had at the end, where it overlaps, on the Studio Version (this one obviously) Chester does have himself playing over his own vocals only at the end of the song where you ask about, Mike only says the one line "I'm tired of being what you want me to be." Chester is doing both the "I've become so numb" and where he draws out the word numb Then again, it's him saying, " I can't feel you there." I think a lot of people get confused here because they are just so used to the song, but if you watch the liver versions you'll hear it too, and how great he really was
Ive heard my whole life that I'm capable of more because im so smart...well then tell me how intelligence is a blessing and not a curse? Because ignorance is truly bliss!!
