Such a shame this song never got any vocals. This feels like the LP guys just saying “look back at everything we’ve made and accomplished” it just feels like a reflection song and sounds so emotional

Technically it does have vocals because this is a rework of “So Far Away” a Hybrid Theory demo from 1999. They tried many times to make that song work but I think this was their last attempt before they discarded it for good.

They used to write songs by doing the music first and then adding lyrics later, which is why they often change so drastically between versions of a song. A lot of the time they couldn't make a working vocal melody even though they liked the music so they ended up with tons of these instrumentals.

Everyone is emotional. It’s human and you can’t help it. Anyone who says they don’t cry are just protecting themselves from the #1 emotion that they hate, embarrassment. But it’s okay to cry and there is no need to be embarrassed. It’s completely normal.

I’m 32 born in 1990 and I feel the exact same as you bud. Tears in my eyes. It’s like a lost memory that never existed. But hearing all these songs now, unreleased demos etc. I can’t even describe how I’m feeling. Such joy and sadness all at once. R.I.P Chester, you touched so many of our lives for the better ❤

Vibe nostálgica, ao mesmo tempo atual... Lembra de uma época que eu ia para a escola com amigos e quando saiamos da aula íamos jogar na casa deles ou nas Lan-houses kkkkk" ou então iriamos assistir desenhos na TV Aberta... A noite eu sempre conversava com uma amiga que eu amava, mas não conseguia contar para ela o quanto gostava dela... no fim nunca falei... algumas vezes meus pais brigavam e eu só me trancava no meu quarto, saia no outro dia como se nada estivesse mudado... perdi amigos que estudaram comigo nessa época para o crime, para a depressão, para a distância... que dor. cresci, fiz vestibular, faculdade, trabalho... Sou casado com uma pessoa que amo muito, mas esses sons do LP nunca me abandonaram, me trazem todas essas lembranças, sentimentos da adolescência... inesquecíveis. Obrigado Linkin Park, obrigado Chester.

Imagine if LP released a 3D RPG adventure game, and while you play, during fights, walks and cutscenes, your hear all the demos fitting perfectly for each part of the game (this one couldbe perfect of the intro of the game), and in the end, especially in the credits part, you hear only Chester's voice singing.

They released a mobile game back in 2011 or 2012. I think it was called 8-bit revolution or something like that. I remember the reward after completing the game was getting to download their unreleased song “Blackbirds.” They didn’t have any other unreleased demo songs in the game but I think there were 8-bit versions of their album tracks

Read a comment like 4-5 years ago on a this song via youtube and it literally felt like what the person described it. This song would be like a theme or nd expression in sound format as if to say "Look. Look at how far I've come." This isn't excatly what how the comment went but if you listen to it in the format of everything coming togther espcially with everyons song they've made and what they've gone through.

The bizarre reason behind the scrapping of this instrumental piece is actually found in Linkin Park Undeground 11 disc. According to Mike Shinoda: "This song actually sounded too poppy, thus it was scrapped." However, it is indeed quite a catchy tune and uplifting as well. It could fit as a soundtrack to a small movie...

God damn dude…. I’m 26 and all I had was meteora and reanimation so these releases are killing. So much emotion packed into small intricate intervals. Chills and that creep along my neck, every time. I can’t imagine what was cut from reanimation
