It has been about a year since this installation. I am thinking about getting this system for my mustang. Does it still work properly or do you have any new complaints? Let me know! Thanks for this awesome video, I think with this I should be able to install it my self!
I've been watching you videos for awhile, thankyou for doing an awesome job. I've noticed on the Teyes website they do a Lux one version for the Mustang, was wondering if you may be able to review the "lux one" on your channel. Thankyou
Hey guys I have a question, but first let me reiterate that I believe this is one of the most incredibly well made and very informative videos out there. Such to the extent that I went on head and made the leap of faith and purchase this very pricey head unit for my 2015 Mustang GT. At first, I thought that I was going to do the install myself. However, before I attempt it, I noticed that when you started the installation, it was a beautiful sunny they outside. However, when you finished it, I noticed it was at night time and you guys had change clothes and it was raining... My question is, what's the story that's not been told in terms of the installation process? Was there a major issue with the install and how long should it take overall to install this unit?
Haha very perceptive! Actually it's because I did the unboxing in my back garden and later we did the installation outside my friends house. It was late afternoon at that point so it got dark as time went on. The installation was fairly painless, although things generally took longer as we were filming everything
@@SaabUnleashed Thanks for the response! By the way, I managed to find and purchase the GPS Extension that you mentioned in the video (thanks for that useful tip.) I have 2 other questions: 1) Does this system support Sirius XM? 2) In your video, where does it show the disconnection/ reconnection of the car's ignition button? From what I have been told as I called around, this unit make take anywhere from 3-6 hrs. to install. So, since I am NOT a professional... I am thinking that "if" I get the guts to take this own myself.... I should be able to get it done in about 7-10 hrs....lol! I REALLY WANT TO TRY THIS MYSELF....BUT AS SOOOOOOOOO NERVOUS! ...LOL! FYI for those of you who are like me (really thing about) doing it yourself, BUT was "wondering" what do the Pros charge... I called a few random places in different states just to get a price for installation in the USA, and price seems to range from $450-750 to have it professionally installed... That's a very wide range, but hope that gives you a ballpark.
So, does the unit not use the stock microphone already equipped in the car? It seems stupid to have to install a whole new ugly aftermarket microphone in your car when ford already had one installed.
I’m looking to upgrade my radio as well. How has it holded up after the install? Anything bugging out or stop functioning after a while? Also hows the lag time on the apps; maps, music, switching from apps to apps ?
Hey Guys...Great video. (2 questions) 1- Where/how do you access the 4-flip up buttons by the ignition switch near the bottom of the factory head unit (driving mode, hazard, etc)? 2- Is the new start/ignition button automatically activated when you make the connection to the new head unit?
Do all the buttons work fine ? My emergency button doesn't blink continuously, I have to push and hold it for continuous blinking otherwise it blinks once and stops.
Awesome video! Out of curiosity, do your heated and cooled seats works still? I didnt see a new button for it installed. Presumably its in the software for the new head unit?
@@SaabUnleashed Are you still planning on making a video of the head unit being used? If so I would have a couple questions I would like to see covered.
@@SaabUnleashed The first few that come to mind without giving too much though: - Does it support wireless CarPlay? If not, does Carlinkit work, as I already have one - Is the top bar with the audio controls removable/hideable? - Does the unit boot up as soon as you open the car (like stock Sync) or when the ignition is turned on? If the latter, is there any way to boot it up without turning on the ignition? - How stable is it in regards to hangups/sudden reboots? - How seamless can you switch between CarPlay and Climate controls?
@@bitterXend also can you pull up the regular sync functions like CarPlay does with the ford logo icon from there being able to climate control radio etc or do you loose it completely- - is the boot up android logo interchangeable like a jail broken iPhone for example can I change it to any other logo or picture -same with the mustang picture
Hey guys... is there any flashing that needs to be done on the unit, or will this be a PLUG & Play install? Will I need to do any type of connections to the steering wheel buttons? Also, my mustang has a factory amp, but I've upgraded my sound system TREMENDOUSLY. Totally went with high-end sound quality speakers and clean bass set-up. I now have two amps in my car; one amp dedicated to the mids/highs and the other amp dedicated to the subs speakers. I am NOT sure if the installer still has the factory amp connected or disconnected....how do you suggest I make the connection with the wires you talk about in the video?
Absolutely not interested for me how is raido channel works. What about: 1. Genuine Rearview camera? 2. Rear park sensors and steering assistance? 3. Dual zone climate control? 4. Seats heat and cooling? 5. Shaker subwoofer does works with genuine plug? 6. All genuine USB ports reated to screen unit? 7. SD GPS Card how it works w/o mobile sharing internet? 8. Sirius subscription does works? 9. Emergecy 911 coordinates call is works?
@@SaabUnleashed Amazing, do you have any video demonstration with this stuff working? Actually nobody demonstrate this, except one video who said "don't buy this carppy screen" for ford cars. Thank you by the way,
Hi I just did the whole process on my mustang but the radio is heard with the vomiting at the maximum barely and I can hear something, what would it be?
hey guys i have a 2019 ford mustang gt with the basic sync radio system no nav no cd player will this work on my car or does my car need to be sync 2 for this to work ??>
why would you need sync 2? this is an entire head unit swap, it should not care about what you had in prior. Just make sure you set up any antenna that come with the kit
did the Apple car play work fine on the USB input next to the cigarette lighter? I’ve seen a couple people move the USB port elsewhere for some reason so I just want to make sure that the USB input next to the cigarette lighter does in fact work with Apple Car play, thanks!!
