in thhis video we will learn how to use less command in linux
less = shows the content of a file
Less command can be used as Pagers to display contents of large files page by page or scroll line by line up and down.
Less have a lot of viewing options and search capability.
Interactive. To exit: ‘q’
less (“less is more”) a bit more smart than the more command
to display contents of a file:
% less filename
To display line numbers:
% less -N filename
To display a prompt:
% less -P"Press 'q' to quit" filename
Combine the two:
% less -NP"Blah-blah-blah" filename

See video to understand. less command is used to read a file or search content inside file less file1 // to show content of given file and see more we can press down key. G to go to end of file /{something } to search something inside file from top and to go next press n. ?{something} to search from downwards

maybe newer changes for less, but for me, pageup and pagedown key works for less on my Debian system. I can use home and end button to get to top or bottom of the document. these are more standard keys or settings for most apps, easier to remember. I thought he was saying M as in Mary, so tested it and I can see that m is for Mark and I think that means setting a bookmark - which I know is possible in using nano and maybe in terminal in general. So, it is N as in Next to go to the next selection. Now I badly want to learn how to set bookmarks. You can set them in terminal applications such a ranger and midnight commander, too.
