Nice condensed review of the catalog. Glad to see that the catalog included doodlebugs and more Genesis engines. Despite there being countless catalog reviews, I feel each one is different in their own way, since some channels may spend more time on certain engines based on their livery or tooling than others. I never knew that RF&P rostered an articulated. Can't wait for the new arrivals too. Best of luck for the future with work and trips!
Thank you! Yes the RF&P actually rostered three H7s for switching at Potomac and Acca Yards, neat little piece of railroading history. I have only found a handful of photos showcasing the locomotives.

Not an O scale guy but I did preorder a Kato N scale Kansas City Southern De Mexico AC4400CW off trainworld since I haven’t seen any new KCS on the market from Kato in almost a decade.
Thought of you as soon as I saw that H7!! Pretty similar thoughts on the catalog, I want the CSX diesels in PS3 as well, was hoping the Berks may have an RF&P, and pretty thankful no WM in this catalog for my wallet sake. The Christmas Hiawatha is about as tempted as I've ever been for a holiday scheme though, just beautiful. Congrats on the Shay, too!
heres a fun fact D&RGW Triplex Locomotive was a proposed Triplex steam locomotive by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad and The Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive was proposed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works after they had built the very first three triplex locomotives for the Erie Railroad in 1914 and they were planning to build this locomotive for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. but unfortunately The reasons to why Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive wasn't built was because of the issues with the Erie Railroad's P-1s and the Virginian Railway's XA when they couldn't go as fast as their top speed was about 10-15 mph, with the Virginian Railway's XA reaching 3-5 mph or even as high as 10 mph. sort of like what if D&RGW built the Triplex Locomotive
I’m in between the L&N U28C and the LC+2.0 L&N Berkshire. On one hand it’s a scale diesel with legacy but my problem with Lionel L&N diesels is they almost never get the gray right. And on the other I would love to have the Berk as the L&N big Emma’s are my favorite steam engines.
I would also like a scale 765 NPR Berk, but over 2k is absurd $$$$$ for someone who has yet to spend over $650 for a single engine. I am glad that there's several RU-vidrs that can make a couple of videos to pay for them or close to it.
Apparently trains here this year will be led by RS-11's, RS-3's and Doodlebugs. Maybe if the Pennsylvania Lottery comes through there will be a visit from NKP 759 (Yes, I'm from that generation) and just like then dreaming over the Lionel catalog will get more attention than is actually spent on the layout.
Are they ever going to make these trains wireless (no rail power) get rid of the O scale middle rail and all the dc issues. Would be amazing to see an update in tech....finally.
There are people who build dead rail models, there are also 2 rail o scale train already. I prefer the third rail as I don't have a degree in electrical engineering and like the ease of wiring.

My wife is a big Olaf fan, so we'll be ordering the new Frozen set (already have the Frozen General set). I regret not ordering the shiny 15th Ann. PolEx Lionchief set, so I'll probably get the 20th. RJ I like the fact that you like the RF&P I work for Amtrak as a conductor and I take the RF&P Route Almost everyday. It’s my favorite Railroad as well. Where did you get the MTH RF&P Berkshire from ? Been looking all over for years for that particular one. Also thank you for putting word out there for RF&P in the Lionel catalog because I’m just excited to get my favorite railroad some love both previous and current Great video. hope to see you someday passing in DC.
Hi Rob! Great seeing you at the VTCA show in November! The trouble with RF&P O Gauge engines is they disppear PDQ when they hit the dealers shelves. However there's a Greenberg show coming up next weekend in Richmond so visit if you can and keep your fingers crossed! If memory serves that RF&P Berk was an MTH product and I THINK MTH also did an RF&P Hudson. (Even though the RF&P never ran Hudsons! )
Being a native to the DMV area and you said you plan on visiting area train shops, I don't know if you already knew but many stores in the area closed up shop last year. Two in Montgomery County, Maryland and another in Carroll County, Maryland. Modeltrainstuff north of Baltimore just closed shop as well. In Maryland, the closest shops that carry O Scale products are in Mount Airy (Train Depot and Toys & Trains). Manassas, Virginia down I-66 West has a few right off the highway (Toy Trains & Collectibles and Train Depot (different from Mt. Airy one but has same name!)). Also have you thought about joining an O Scale club? I think there are a few left in the area. I am more of a HO guy myself but dabble in Traditional/Semi/O-27/MPC/Post-War O Scale as actual scale O is way too expensive and takes up too much space.
I actually already have a video filmed at TTC and that will be up in a few weeks. I have thought about joining the club but I just don't have the time for that. I have interests outside of trains that I also like to pursue

Maybe find one that is informal that does not require much of your time. The club I am part of is very informal. We just go to train shows and set up modules. No dues, nothing mandatory, optional meeting on Zoom call once a month. You are free to participate as much or little as one wishes.

She sounds like all of our Bassets, when she wants to get fed she wants it NOW! 🤣 Anyway, you don't need any more Berkshires, that RF&P version is the "Holy Grail" and you've got it! The RF&P H-7's going to be "Holy Grail 2.0" when that comes out so it's a good thing you've got the order in. South of the Potomac those are only going to last 30 seconds when they hit the hobby shops. I'd like an RF&P Pacific myself but wow, those models are expensive! I'll probably find a vintage conventional and make my own. Maybe I'll find a good candidate when the Greenberg show comes to Richmond on the 20th. Thanks for posting!

Hard pass on all the Bob Ross stuff. Thought about the O gauge army cars untill I looked at the price tag. Sorry $90 for a O Gauge car is to much for me
Yep Light em up!. When people quit appeasing lionel the prices will drop. Screw Lionel, there are two other manufacturers that are still reasonable, which is what I pay attention to. Stop byuing over priced junk
