As a big Messi fan from Chicago, till this day my biggest regret is not watching this game live. A once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the greatest of all time doing what he does best.

Rupert Grime I have, of course he was amazing but he has replicated that performance so many times before. two assists and a goal is a normal Messi game, but to score both incredible goals and an assist in 15 minutes to LITTerally win the game by yourself in a CL semi-final against your old mentor and his great team was just insane. And against Panama, he had been injured, the crowd gave more fucks about what Messi was doing on the bench than the actual game itself. Idk if you watched this game live, but it was an incredible sight to behold. The crowd was something else. The fact that he scored felt like destiny, but then to net a hat trick including an insane free kick makes this one of his great performances. He's had better performances when looking purely at what he did, but the context on these two make them the most astonishing.
As the only game I've ever seen Messi play live, I'll cherish this night for the rest of my life. The fact that a performance like this isn't even one of his best remembered speaks volumes about how prolific he's really been. Revisiting this again after the magician finally won his well-deserved World Cup. Viva Messi!

Argentina were struggling against 10 man Panama, then Messi comes back from injury, plays 29 minutes, scores a hat trick, becomes top goal scorer of the tournament, and creates a goal with a beautiful perfectly timed through ball. I live in Chicago and went to this game with my father back in 2016, 7 years ago wow, Messi was 28 at the time, I am blessed to have seen him play this amazing match, can’t believe i watched him in one of his primes without knowing.

I was there homie, drive from Detroit, i was about 20 rows out of the left side where he plays and yes, truly blessed to witnessed the 🐐 live and a hat-rick with an assist in one half.. amazing, still get chills, crazy how fast time flies.

I have seen the whole season and messi's level of performances are matched by none, only person close is suarez who has also scored some incredible finishes, but messi's playing is just the best for me, the amount of chances created, the kinds of goals and their importance, all the free kicks, for me he is the best pretty much every season, unless he is injured, this season also he was out for 2 months, still he is the best, just incredible

lol im late but its usually played every 4 years like the world cup or euros, the only reason they had back to back copa americas was because this year was a 100 year special.
Centenario means 100 years. Copa America started in 1916. It was 2016. So hundred years African teams don't usually play. But sometimes they invited Africa teams and north American teams in this tournament
