Don't blink or you will miss it! The Red Lionfish (Pterois volitans) is an invasive species in the Caribbean with a voracious appetite. These strikes took less than 1/60th of a second, literally faster than the blink of a human eye.
Beautiful I agree 100% However Lionfish now inhabit reefs, wrecks, and other habitat types in the warm marine waters of the greater Atlantic. These Lionfish continue to expand at astonishing speeds and are harming native coral reef ecosystems in the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean. These reefs are already struggling from the effects of climate change, pollution, disease, overfishing, sedimentation, and other stressors. Really wish people thought first before freeing themselves of unwanted pets . Instead of assuming it’s only your lion-fish, what harm is one going to cause. Yea it’s never just you no matter how special and unique your parents told you you were . Btw Florida pays $5-$6 a pound . dive equipment, tank fills, ownership of a boat. These weigh anywhere from 2 - 3 lbs I walk away with a thousand for 3 hours of work . Or you could wait for the lionfish derby . We should be handing our world over to the kids the same as we received it. It’s only right!!!!!
@@WestHaddnin Humans are the ones who brought Lionfishes to the Atlantic Ocean, meaning to say, we are more of a pest than the Lionfishes we left to wonder around the waters of the atlantic. Those Lionfishes in the Atlantic shouldn't be killed, and have their meat sold in restaurants(since they are poisonous fish), they should be trapped, than put in the aquarium instead.
