Lions Celebrate First Playoff Win in 32 Years! 

I can't even fathom the emotions of that man who has been a season ticket holder for 65 years...

Detroit and their fans have deserved this moment for a long time. From 0-16 in 2008 to breaking a 32 year drought in 2024. Absolutely incredible win for the Lions.

Every once in a while sports bring a tear to my eyes. Saints. Eagles. Cubs. Even the vikings playoff game. Now this. Just wonderful to see.

Buffalo fan here. I had two friends back in the 90's, they were brothers from Pontiac MI and they loved their Lions. We used to rib each other back and forth over who had it the worse. Lol They both served their country in the Marines and both passed away before the age of 50. Kevin and Eric, my heart is with you tonight and all the loyal Detroit fans who so deserved and worked hard for this victory. # 3 more games.

As a Bengals fan, hearing that final call, mirroring what Cincinnati got two years ago, I can relate to this team so much. There's something special about a team with so much disappointment coming out and making football really fun for their city once again. Take it all the way, Lions. I'll be rooting for you.

I maybe a Giants fan, but I’m actually crying tears of joy for the Lions. I know what it’s like to have optimism finally being reborn. The Lions are arguably one of the best parts of being a sports fan: the feel good story teams. The Lions are not just America’s True Team but America’s Heartbeat.

As a Patriots fan of 21 years, I am saying a major congratulations to the Lions for their first playoff win in 32 years, very well earned and much deserved. The city of Detroit has needed something like this for a long time and I’m really hoping this kickstarts a deep playoff run similar to what the Bengals pulled off in 2021 once they broke their 31 year playoff win drought, but the Lions being the team to complete the job.

So glad I got tickets, I’m only 23 but this means so much, I can only imagine how everyone who has stuck with this team longer than I felt. Go Lions!

I’ve lived in southeast Michigan for my entire life. My dad is a huge Lions fan and I’m a pretty big Lions fan myself, of course. My first memories of football and the Lions were the 2007 and 2008 seasons, back when I was 5 or 6, and one of the biggest memories from that was just how much they lost, and how frustrated that made my dad, and I always hoped that someday we’d get to see more consistent success, and my dad (and I) wouldn’t have to be so frustrated by this team we wanted to badly to succeed. Tonight I got to watch the Lions win their first playoff game in my lifetime, and the first playoff game the Lions have won since my dad was in high school, and I got to share that moment with my dad. This was absurdly important to me and him, and I can say with confidence there are many more people all around our great state who got to experience moments just like that tonight. Thanks to all of those who made this win happen, and no matter what we encounter going forward, I will always remember this day.
